My personal theory is that Dean is pretty shell-shocked after all of it. This is soon after the apocalypse (or whatever), so he's still kind of numb. I wouldn't lay bets on his not complaining six months down the line. ;)
I've always loved the way the boys are so in tune with each other's thoughts. They kind of lost that in Season 4, so I'm hoping they get it back soon. Like that wonderful scene in "The Usual Suspects," in which they both start thinking "What if it's an anagram?" at the same time. :)
