Season 1 Sam always dressed in, like, a million layers of clothing. He also slouched, kept his hands in his pockets, didn't make much eye contact with people, and generally seemed just fine with letting Dean take the lead all the time. I always wondered why that was, but his character has evolved a long way away from that since then. :)
