I love how Mallory calls him Sammy. I felt bad for her when he left, but she did sort of know he wasn't there for the duration. At least he had a loving home while he recuperated. And I give a big YES to the one shot (if you can make it stay just a one shot!) where Sam manages to in some way thank all the people that helped him.
