OH DEANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN. *hugs him for being so awesome*
Poor Sam, though. *pats him on the arm that's not broken*
I love how Sam's in so much pain and he's consumed by it and he's on a mental loop (God, I can sympathize so much right there... I know exactly how that is. *pats Sam's shoulder*) and his slightly obsessive thoughts about being okay and then Bobby injecting him with a painkiller to help with the physical pain but sends Sam into a drugged panic attack. I don't blame Bobby though - wasn't his fault and he was trying. *hugs Bobby because no one hugs him and EVERYBODY NEEDS HUGS!*
I love Sam's freak out and his focus on the fan...
But Dean is exceptionally stellar. I love how you've absolutely CAPTURED Dean's voice here. I think this is one of your best canon-Deans. His voice, gruff and slightly freaked out in the panic room to get Sam to focus to being lighthearted and using humor to cover up how scared he was and to draw Sam out of his melancholy and worry. You've nailed Dean and his use of humor and bad jokes as a cover and to pull Sam out of whatever mood. Although it kind of makes me feel a little sorry for Dean.
I love Dean just brushing off Sam's panic attack and understanding why and even using himself as a target for one of the reasons the Panic Room sucks so badly for both of them. And then Dean suggesting to try to get over the fear and panic because it's their safe spot when bad shit goes down - like being attacked by zombies. But I love Dean telling Sam they'll bring Xanax and he'll be there.
But the last two lines “I love you too, asshole.” / “Shut up and go back to sleep.” are beyond perfect for them as is Dean just being THERE all warm and solid and rock-steady.
