[SPN Podfic] 10,000 Miles

I am slowly catching up on all my projects, and now have all my promised podfics completed, at least. One less thing to worry about.

This one was a project I was really looking forward to, and RL kind of bit me in the ass and didn't let me finish it in time for the deadline, which made me feel like all sorts of an ass because reapertownusa did such a great job with the cover art and really put herself out for this. Not to mention that I feel like I let down all the people at podficbigbang, too.

Oof.


Anyway, this one was something of an experiment for me. I'm sure everyone knows this story, it's infamous in fandom. I'm not sure I did it justice, quite frankly. I was trying to match the tone when I read, and trying to convey the stylistic choice mimblexwimble made when she wrote her dialogue without quotation marks.

I'm honestly not sure if I succeeded, but I tried. It didn't help that I can't read this story without crying. One day I will learn to podfic happy stories.

I finished listening to this today and I am literally speechless. I'm supposed to be immune to this fic, but your reading has ruined me. There's so much beautiful, perfect emotion in your voice, at every point of the story. It's everything I could have wanted in a reading of this fic. In fact, it's more than I could have expected. It's spectacular. It's perfect. It makes me feel things differently than I felt them while writing the fic. It makes me feel some things even more. I literally do not have the words to give you the kind of feedback you deserve! Magnificent. The end.

I spent about 80% of this story trying not to cry while recording, I'm not even kidding. So I'm glad at least it worked for the story. I swear, your fic KILLS me. No one is immune!

Anyway, I'm so glad that you liked the recording. I was really worried that I hadn't done your story justice. It's such a quiet, sad thing to read that I didn't want to make it overly dramatic, but then I worried it was monotonous, and then I wibbled over it forever, basically. So, in short, I am very relieved. :)
