The "Pete" was a typo, and it was fixed this morning.
As for the fever/delirium thing, well, you know and I know that that sort of thing needs medical attention (actually, an acquaintance of my mother's had recurring malaria, and there was never any question about getting him rushed to the hospital every time he relapsed), but the characters are fallible and El is an event planner, not a nurse. So I figured it was a decently believable stretch that they would acquiesce to Neal's insistent demands not to be taken to a hospital.
Scary medical issues aside, I'm very glad that you liked the voices and the story, and the "theoretical mosquitoes" was my favourite bit to write, so I'm very gratified that someone picked up on that. :)
