I don't post much about RL stuff here. I keep that for my regular LJ (which is sadly neglected these days) and Twitter. Today I'll make a quick exception because RL is affecting my fic writing. Feh.

1- I'm moving in a little over two weeks. To a house. Which I bought. *flails*

2- The change of season in the fall is always really, really rough on me. This year is apparently no exception. Blah blah blah SAD blah blah mental illness blah. I get a little blindsided by it every year.


In short, I'm going to do myself a favour and stick only to the exchanges I signed up for and not to the challenges, with one or two exceptions. I have to drop five0bang, because it's 40k and the story isn't gelling at all. spn_cinema is going to have to go by the wayside, because it's due the same day I'm moving and the story is SO LONG that I won't be able to write it in time. Not with my current schedule and energy levels.

It sucks, but that's part of being a grownup. RL has to come first this time. *sigh*

As for your writing, don't worry. When you have time, it'll be there. Of course, you may have to put the muse through detox, but we're used to these things by now. :D

Actually, I think it's super exciting that you bought a house and are doing awesome things with your life that way.

I adore the fall, it's so beautiful and crisp and lovely outside, but it makes me tired. It seriously saps all my energy for no reason I can determine, except that the seasons are changing and there's less sunlight and... yeah. February is hard too, but less so, because I've had time to adjust.

I am excited about my house. :)

I love my cinema story too. I just can't devote the energy to it that it would require. I figure it'll be at least 15k, maybe a lot more, depending. And it weirdly enough requires a lot of research.

That would leave me with my minibang and about five exchanges, all of which are 1k or less and due over a span of months. I can totally do that.

You bought a house!!!!! That's awesome, though you maybe feeling all flaily right now. I did the same thing myself about fifteen years ago and haven't regretted it for a single day. Though I do feel a little flaily from time to time. Houses of your own that you can go home to everyday and not have noise from next door or upstairs or downstair and can do whatever you want to are awesome. They are.

That's sad. *hugs* And well, kind of strange for me personally, as I (almost) decided yesterday to drop out of five0bang as well. So you see, you're not the only one. 40k is a monsterous amount of words and, well, it's the RL thing in my case too. Just . . . RL messes with fandom-SQUEEE you know. ;)

Which is fantastic!And as a veteran of buying 5 houses/flats over the years let me reassure you that flailing and whimpering and cursing your own stupidity at EVER buying anything are pretty much an essential part of the property buying process. It's going to be great though, once you're finally in!

Um... I feel silly for asking, but I've seen that term all over SPN fandom, and I have no idea what it means. What's "comment fic"? :-)

Oh! Comment-fic is easy. Basically, a person or a community holds a comment-fic meme, like this. People post prompts in the comment section, and other people fill those prompts. Traditionally a "fill" fits in one comment-box, but often enough it'll take more than one box to fit the whole story.

And I totally hear you with the depressing fall season. I kinda love it when the air is much cooler and all the colours, etc. but at the same time it gives me a hard time to cope with that change of season. I hope you´re feeling okay! The writing projects, even though they are awesome, always come second. Just take your time to finish those of them that you feel like CAN finish :)
