I love how you write Sam so messed up, so lost, and then he has these moment of lucidity, understanding. He's so shattered, but there are bits of him that are the same insightful, clever person he was before the fall, and that hurts too. I like Mrs. O'Keefe, both for her voice and how she really does CARE.
