ratherastory: (Is Writing Fanfic)

In which [livejournal.com profile] ratherastory becomes a weathervane

I've changed my mind about NaNoWriMo. Not about participating, but about what I'm going to write.

I have decided to write comment-fic. Yes, totally "cheating," but I've been doing NaNo since 2003 and have nothing to prove in terms of wordcount.

The comment-fic memes have been calling to me for ten days now, and I think I've showed admirable restraint.

So I'm going to aim for one comment-fic a day of at least 1,666 words. If one fic ends up shorter one day, I'll write a second.

It also means, dear readers, that you can expect about a fic a day from me, unedited and unbeta'd, but complete. That's not so bad, is it?

When I run out of prompts from the current memes, I always have some of my old ideas to fall back on, and some prompts from older memes to go back to. I also owe a few people some fic from prompts they gave me, so I'll take the opportunity to write those too. Then there's always [livejournal.com profile] spnquotefic and [livejournal.com profile] comment_fic.

And of course, my tried-and-true [livejournal.com profile] pkwench who never fails in giving me stuff I want to write.

In fact, as soon as I've finished this post, I'm going to go compile a list of 30 prompts/ideas I know I want to write, and set up a schedule. *bounce*

The LF I was originally going to write but that I'm not sure will hit 50K will get written in December, alongside my Gabriel Big Bang. The other reason I'm not writing it is that it sort of depends on how this Friday's episode turns out.
