I would gladly answer any questions you may have. I have a little too much fun with keywords.

Okay, replying here and numbering, since I already have a post up.

1. My default! It's a hamster and a little badminton birdie or some such. I found it on Getty (a wonderful place for random images) and loved it. Someone's said it looks as though the hamster is about to put on the birdie as a festive hat, which is my favorite explanation of it.

2. Buster Keaton! I have a soft spot for Buster, and all his physical comedy craziness. When my sister was a senior, her class did projects on media and movies and such, and her best friend did a comparison between Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplain. Her thesis statement was that Buster Keaton was way better, and I had to agree (I was in sixth grade at the time, and agreed with everything my sister and her friends did or said). Since then I've actually, you know, SEEN some of his stuff and heard interviews and such about his style -- and the fact that everything he did he actually did. There were no special effects. He just worked out physics and trajectories and said not to turn the camera off until he said "cut" or he died.

I have no idea what the text there says. I knew once, but it's been a long time since I made that icon.

3. I think that's from the webcomic Questionable Content. Direct quote. I read it and knew I had to have it as an icon. . . . Fortunately, it's not one that gets used, often.

4. So, before I got my best friend (known hereabouts as tABFF because she doesn't have an LJ) hooked on SPN, she'd read my posts babbling about fic with a certain sense of detached wonder. One day, I whined about how a fic I'd scribbled down was utter crap, and she responded with that quote. Note: She knew next to nothing at all about SPN at the time. But it was so perfect for season four, I had to make it into an icon. It's now my go to when SPN gets all melodramatic and weird. It's not crap, it's Pynchon!

5. Ever see Southland Tales? It's incredible. That quote there is from one of my favorite scenes, which can be seen here. I have to admit, Justin Timberlake is kind of amazing, there. Weird music video included. (That movie also includes the Rock running in terror from Jon Lovitz. SO MUCH TO LOVE.)

6. So I spent three months in the Czech Republic (you ever watch Family Guy? There's this great quote from Stewie about how he's gonna move to Prague. Oh, ostensibly to teach English, but really just to discover himself, you know? Well, that was me). While there, I heard about the Prague Golem and Rabbi Loew and kind of fell in love. This is my "Prague was the best time of my life ever" icon, featuring Rabbi Loew and his Golem on the Charles Bridge. It's very moody, I think, and nostalgic, which is how I feel about my Prague days, now.
