New fandom loves

Okay, I am falling a little bit in love with some new (to me) shows. Just made my way through the first two episodes of Leverage, and I am kind of all sorts of keen about this show. Although I can't look at Elliott without thinking of his hair mating with Sam's. Y'all can blame [livejournal.com profile] authoressnebula for that particular bit of crack.

Also? I got the first disc of Veronica Mars through Zip, and I am totally and completely smitten. I know it's off the air now, and I've only seen four episodes, but man. It was clever and well-written and well-paced and funny and touching and really freaking brave. Having your main character be the victim of a date rape at a party without sliding into the sordid or the overly corny or the cliché? That is a tour de force, and I am impressed. It's a topic that usually makes me want to throw things at the TV set, and the show handled it with grace and sensitivity. Like I said: colour me impressed.

Thirdly, although I'm not quite as in love with this show, is Burn Notice. Mostly I am enjoying Bruce Campbell.

Still thoroughly obsessed with SPN, but it's nice to know I can still have other interests. ;)

Veronica Mars totally and completely rocks. It ends badly, I'm afraid. The first two seasons, they knew they were on the verge of getting cancelled, and ended the season properly. They ended up being rescued, and surprise! They were in for another season. Season 3, the same thing happened, and they ended it with a lot of loose ends. That's when the series was cancelled. I can recommend when to stop watching if it matters to you.

Oooh! Hubby and I just started Leverage, too! We can be Leverage newbs together!! :D So far? I LOVE IT.

Oh man, Veronica Mars ... *sobs* I LOVED that show. You will love it. It's soo, so good. I was SO mad when it got canceled. I never got to see how it ended, but eeeeee, I loved that show. ♥

I also highly recommend Life. It's only 2 seasons, so ... if you are bored... ;)

OMG LEVERAGE IS LOVE. I CAN'T WAIT TILL YOU GET TO THE EPS WITH CROWLEY. ;D

Veronica Mars s1 is soooooooo good. That fandom had a lot of great fic too, fyi.

Veronica Mars was all kinds of brilliant. Veronica and her father may be my favorite parent/child television relationship ever.

Leverage is love and Veronica Mars rocks. I also really like Burn Notice a lot. I've always loved Bruce Campbell, but Michael and Fiona are really fantastic. And yes, Nebula's cracktastic crossovers make me die laughing!

[livejournal.com profile] ancastar got me into Veronica Mars last summer and I basically mainlined the first two seasons. (Joss Whedon always said it was the best show on television and ahuge influence on him). And Leverage is great fun, I love Chris Kane's character to a ridiculous degree. Enjoy!

Bruce Campbell is *the* reason to watch Burn Notice IMO. (Though to be fair, the episodes are of varying quality. It can be OK and middling, and then all of a sudden be fantastic.)

You know, after I started watching that show, I read somewhere that he was originally intended to be the replacement for Mulder in Season 8 of the x-files. And all of a sudden, all I could picture was Scully stuck with Sam Axe.

It would have been the very definition of awesome.

Veronica Mars! SO AWESOME. Veronica and her dad are such great characters, and (particularly the first season) it's a textbook example of how to write a mystery in 22 episodes. Just brilliant.

Leverage is lovely, also, though not quite in that league. It's one of those shows where I love the sidekicks more than the main heroes - Parker, Hardison, and Eliot are so much fun!

Hee, all great shows, aren't they? Man, I remember watching Veronica Mars on French TV - even my mom enjoyed occasionally!

I don't know how much you've seen of Burn Notice, but I'm very fond of that show, and not only for Bruce Campbell (I just had a flashback of "My name is Michael Weston. I used to be a spy. Until..." lol). It's one of the rare show I watch with my brother in English. I'd very much loved to read a crossover of this show with SPN (but then, everytime I love a show, I want to read a crossover of it with SPN^^)

Yay for Leverage! It's a really great show.

I just started watching Leverage, too. I like it. It's cheeky and fun.

Aw, YAY! I love Leverage too, at first my husband was like...this is dumb. Now he's all into it with me. We're just finishing Season 1 with Season 2 coming from Netflix.

Elliot makes me go RAWR! Did you know Chris is only 5'8" I think? It's cute, the gag reels always show Chris fixing his hair and his costars impersonate him.

I do really enjoy a lot of the USA shows. In Plain Sight is a great one too. I love their female characters, very awesome 'women hero' archetypes that aren't handled stereotypically, if that makes any sense. Psych is AWESOME, do watch that. <3

I love Burn Notice. Between Bruce Campbell and Sharon Glass.. it's great!
Now I also get Royal Pains and then White Collar in July.

Ooh, I love Burn Notice! The cheesy voice-overs are my absolute favorite, followed closely by the car chases and explosions. And, of course, Bruce. Are you thinking of crossover fic...? *excited*

I only watched a few eps. of Veronica Mars before the person who owned the DVDs moved, but everyone always says great things about it. Maybe another to add to the list, hm?

YES to all three of those!! So many good characters and all shows that aren't on a major network. The only show on one of the main four I watch is Glee.

See Emmy's? Good shows happen to other networks! (like spn you uppity fools!)

Veronica Mars is what for me started reading fanfic! I love Leverage too, but have only seen a few episodes (need to fix that).
