Well, profs as parents can be terrifying (ask my son -- both his parents are ;)

NOTHING beats the Commandant of your base speaking to you and going "I believe I know your mother as well as your father..." when you're enlisted (not officer). Oh, yes, my life was lived in a fragile bubble for a while.
