I am a sad, sad fangirl

I have NO idea how I got to be this sad, but while I was randomly googling SPN-related stuff (it's for a story, I swear!), I discovered that Jared Padalecki's middle name is Tristan, and my inner Wagner fangirl did a freaking twirling jump of JOY.

Yes, I like Wagner. A lot. People don't appreciate his work nearly enough because all they can think of is the Ride of the Valkyries (although I credit "Apocalypse Now" with the beginning of my love affair with both Wagner *and* The Doors, so it's not all bad).

Anyway, yes. TRISTAN!

*melts*

That doesn't make you a SAD fangirl! That makes you a happy joyful melty fangirl!

I swear to God, there are days when I frighten myself. :P

Not why I don't like Wagner (although love that score in movies), but now JP needs to find someone named Isolde and geeky fandom can go truly into overdrive.

Too bad he's already getting married, eh?

(It's also too bad that the "Tristan and Isolde" movie sucked so hard. My friend and I fast-forwarded through the last twenty minutes.)

She was married too. ;)

It did suck but I watched it for teh pretty.

Meh. The pretty could not save that movie. Nothing could. It was terrible.

Isolde was only married in some of the versions. In other versions she was going to be married. Not that that makes it any better. Stupid love potions. ;)

I personally think that this makes you a delightful and happy fangirl. Also, I had no friggin' idea that his middle name was Tristan. Huh. Kind of adorable.

Isn't it adorable?

It made me squee with delight!

TRISTAN! As in, Grail Knight and all sorts of other awesomeness! Courtly love at its best!

(I am SUCH a dork)

In those days betrothed=married, so just as good. Love potions: just can't trust 'em.

I'm even sadder

(I'll PM you with details as to why I'm here)

I see that Jared's middle name is Tristan and my Gilmore Girls alarms go off in a most ironic way.....

Huh? Gilmore Girls? What?

OK so you have to know that Jared played Dean, Rory's first boyfriend, on "Gilmore Girls"... (yeah, 'Hollywood Babylon', Season 2, during the studio tour *snerk*). Tristan was an annoying SOB at Chilton....I could give more details but that would be spoiler-y? :-)

Ah, okay. I did know Jared was Rory's boyfriend on GG. Didn't know there was also a Tristan. Good to know! :)
