Charity update

Okay, everywhere in the universe is flooding, so I'm actually participating in two charity auctions. As soon as [livejournal.com profile] fandom_flood_ap updates, I will be offering up a podfic there, and I am ALSO offering up a fic at [livejournal.com profile] helpbrazil2011.

You can see all the details in my original post.

Same rules as usual apply. :)

Hee! Has bidding stopped there? Because the last time I did this there was a hilarious $1 bidding war for a while before bidding came to an end. :)

No, it goes until the 26th but there was this $1/$2 thing going on for a good two hours between two people before one of them said "I quit" and the other finished bidding for $18. But when the last person said $18, I was all *jeeze... this is why I hate auctions... Sold!* Not to mention I really really like the person who won the fic so I kind of just drew the line. LOL!

Hee!

They are kind of stressful, aren't they?

And it was getting close to the person's limit and I just felt kind of weird and nervous when it got close to $20 because I just don't think my fics are worth that much. And right now I'm having self-esteem issues in which I need constant validation and think I suck. Yes, I'm freakin' channeling Dean and his concept of self-worth. *groans*

It's HERE (http://community.livejournal.com/qldfloodauction/335.html?thread=265551#t265551).

But I'm still open for bid on [livejournal.com profile] fandom_flood_ap.

They are... and it just freaked me out. So the freak-out was why I was all "SOLD!" (and STFU MODS IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS!!!) LOL! But I also have two offers in two places so if someone tries to bid there, I'll just redirect them... :)

Wow, talk about issues, dude. :)

Remember, it's for charity! The more people bid, the better!

Yes... but I'm French Canadian. And when it comes to money, I have every single saver-to-the-point-of-stinginess gene you can imagine. Just... yeah. Not to mention I'm paying off my $15K-ish in loans... so I kind of forget.

Part of the "I suck" thing is because I can't find a job and no one wants to hire me and I just feel so worthless... so I crawl under my rock and channel Dean and write fics from his POV.

I call it "the perpetual night of I suck." It happens once in a while... and when it does, I become an eight year old child with self-esteem issues along the lines of Dean Winchester.

Hey, I'm French-Canadian too. If I can get over having people give money to charity for me, so can you! ;)

I just choose to have self-esteem issues outside of charity events.

LOL! That's fantastic! *smishes you for sharing same heritage*

I'm still working on getting over the money-to-charity thing... and for some reason my self-esteem issues are EVERYWHERE lately. The past 24 hours have been a whole lot of wibbling and feeling clingy and needing to be validated. I blame RL and the hellhole that was a job fair.

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2011-01-15 04:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Aww! *smishes you back*

Don't worry, it happens to all of us.

My French tends to show up in the oddest places, actually... ;)

Same here... It's bizarre. Unfortunately my family lost a lot of its traditions and heritage over the generations (I'm something like a fifth-generation American depending which side you count), but it does crop up here and there. And it's just been weird lately. Like I see $18 for a fic and I'm all "that's ridiculous..."
