Thanks! It's probably going to hit about 65k for the first draft, and knowing me it'll go longer for the final draft. 80k is a conservative estimate at this point, given what I have planned. Gah. Why do I do this to myself?
Anyway, I'm not giving up. It would SUCK to get this far only to fail right at the finish line.
And yeah. Right now I'm just working on getting the main parts of the story DONE, and then once the deadline is past I'll work on fleshing the rest out. This has turned into even more of a monster than last year's Big Bang, and that's saying something. Eesh.
*hugs* you'll do wonderfully :) but I can relate! I'm doing for the first time a story for the spn_gen_bigbang and it's my first over 3-4K and it's scary!
I'm going to be in the middle of a field in France this summer, in my house with no phone and no TV, but hopefully the Internet will be up and working and I will be able to spend my evenings reading "Ratherastory does War and Peace!" Can't wait!
(I scrapped what I had and started a completely different thing out of the blue. It should stop at 20000 words thankfully but let's hope.) I'm totally taking inspiration from you. *cheers*
You had multiple Big Bangs due May 1st?! What were you THINKING?! That's a fast track to the crazy house and and and I DON'T WANT YOU IN THE CRAZY HOUSE BECAUSE HOW WOULD I GET MY FUSION FIX OTHERWISE?????? *wibbles* *cries*
I'm just doing the Gen BB and it's already driving me insane. Mostly because I made Dean insane and he's permanently shattered in an emotional sense. *pets him*
Yeah, at the time I had a plan, but then life got in the way and I had to scrap two of 'em. Alas. Maybe next year the schedule will be more staggered and I'll be better off.
The first BB is always the hardest. You'll do fine. Just keep plugging away at it. :)
Awwww. Thanks. I should be better off now that I have a cheerleader to bounce ideas off of and she is helping me with a major (MAJOR) plot point I was stuck on and psyching out about. That's too bad about dropping two of them. I hear you about life.
*hugs*
And you'll do amazing. I look forward to reading this one (even though it probably won't be in one sitting....)
I'm doing up a 200 yr old house there, or at least the builders have done most of it and I'm just painting stuff. Last year I was there for nearly 4 weeks with nothing but a bed, a chair and a microwave and fridge. This year I have a fitted kitchen and kitchen table AND a sofa! The plan is to move there in a couple of years. Internet is essential, but there's no ADSL so I have to get my satellite dish connected back up as I disconnected last Aug so as not to pay unnecessary charges. I fear that may have been a tactical error!
Sadly, no as I need to call them whe it's all been pointed, but I need to be there to help with the pointing! Never mind, I have a friend who will help me out. You don't get to be my friend without suffering, and this particular form of suffering will involve ladders, roofs and 38C temperatures!
I really wanted to do BB and I came up with an amazing idea but the second I started to write it was like wading through wet cement. Which sucks because three years ago I tried the BB and I actually went through three different rewrites, each one over 60k words. I ended up not posting though because I really didn't like the story in the end. Still, I miss the creativity and freedom of being able to just write. :'(
Good luck! I honestly don't have the time either *hugs* but we just have to write it by July so plenty of time! I've used two weeks of holiday recently to write and it really got me in the swing of things--I've got around 9K out of the 15K and I'm not even finished with the story!
I know :) unfortunately, the next round is during exams for me so I'm going to be busy busy with that instead of the round. But I really enjoyed doing the round.
Thanks! I hope so but I just don't know. I'm doing an AU of S6 involving Sam as RoboSam and his year with the Campbells. Not the most favorite of characters...

I hear you. I did that last year for my BB too, although mine clocked in at about 75k last year. Guh. Why can my BBs never be simple? WHY?

I am going to write until the very last possible second before conceding defeat. I think I can do it, but it's going to be hard.
