Divine: The Series

So, this post from Tumblr pretty much sums up most of my feelings about Divine, only without my reaction of "Gaaaah, this is horrifying!"

Anglican deacons can't consecrate. Some Protestant deacons (like those in my church) can. In extremis in pretty much all denominations anyone can celebrate the sacraments in the absence of a priest, so dying people can be baptised; lay people about to be executed the next day can celebrate the eucharist and so on.

So, given that ministering is my actual, rl job, should I watch this?

The ministering thing will drive you crazy. Also, it's really gory and the crappy first-aid treatment got on my nerves. Furthermore, it's very poorly acted. I'm not recommending it, but it's only about 10 minutes long, so YMMV.

Thank you! *grumbles at show about the situation still not qualifying because there's a priest RIGHT THERE*

I'm seconding the "It's a horrible show with almost no logical explanation for anything and crap acting, but it's short" line.

I'm moderately glad I watched it. Now, if it comes up in conversation I can recoil in horror by my own choice and not by hearsay. :D
