FILLED: Stay With Me

Well I had Sam seize on the ambulance to the hospital, again. I hope that's ok OP

The roar of the ambulance almost made Dean want to cover his ears and hide away. The pulsing from the road, the noise from the siren, the bustle of the EMT's it was all making Dean dizzy.

His throat hurt from begging Sam to stay with him. He doesn't know how many times he's begged, pleaded, even cried.

Yes the supposedly, tough hunter cried his heart out when watching his Sammy seize. He remembered when Sam was little and ran a real high fever, their Dad was trying his best to cool him off and comfort him but Sammy was hurting, scared and didn't really know what to think.

Dean was only 5 at the time but for some reason he just knew that he would lose Sam and watching him seize that day? Watching a one year old Sam tighten up and flail about and watching his Dad go from comfort to panic? Yeah that certainly wasn't a day he ever wanted to relieve again but as lady luck has it, it's seems like he's stuck in a nightmare playing again and again.

“BP's dropping.” One of the EMT's barked gruffly to his partner.

“Wait, what does that mean?” Dean asked with a tremble. Looking from the two EMT's with uncertainty.

The one who was caring for Sam grimaced and turned to his partner.

Dean felt his heart stop. “Tell me damn it!”

“Sir-” The EMT started with a dire tone.

Then a machine started going off.

Dean watched with wide eyes as Sam's glassy ones rolled back in his head.

“He's seizing. For fucks sake he's seizing again!” Almost like the EMT's didn't believe him they stared at each other until Sam really did seize. His long body flailed and tightened up. His head jerked unnaturally to the side until Dean thought his neck would break.

“Do something!” Dean yelled. “Stay with me Sammy. Please...” Dean closed his eyes and swallowed down his emotions, hearing the EMT's bark at each other and communicate with the hospital. He couldn't handle this. What if he lost Sam? For good this time...the thought sent chills up his spine and Dean felt a tear escape.

“Alright we got him back.” The one EMT said with a sigh.

Dean also breathed out a sigh of relief and finally turned to his still sibling. “Why is he unconscious still?” He wondered in worry. Sam was so still, so...unnaturally still. Almost like...no don't go there. You can't go there.

“It's not uncommon for patients to remain unconscious after seizing sir. He's doing as well as can be expected.”

Dean didn't believe him. He probably never would.

So Dean just watched as the EMT's tended to his brother. His brother who faced Hell and back and seemed to be broken inside but miraculously he hasn't given up yet. Dean would never let him.

It was the only thing he could hang onto. “Stay with me Sammy...” Dean begged again. “Stay with me little brother.”

The one EMT took pity on the man and inserted some morphine into his I.V. “This will help you relax sir.”

“Stay with me, stay with me....” Dean chanted until finally the morphine dragged him under. Stay with me Sammy, I don't want to live in this world without you. Please....

The End
