File under "no1curr"

See how I am learning the internet lingo? See? Okay, moving along.

I have decided I'm not going to cross-post to fanfiction.net anymore. I am way behind there anyway, and I honestly think it's more trouble than it's worth. I don't like the format, I hate the way the reply system works, and in short... meh. I don't wanna.

So I'm going to alter my profile there and redirect people to my other accounts.

Fare thee well, fanfiction.net, it was fun while it lasted.

I keep reading it as "number one curr." Like, my favorite mongrel dog.

I've stopped posting there too, mostly out of laziness because it's such a pain.

I posted a couple times there after having a discussion about the merits of it on FFR, just as an experiment.

But I HATE it. I hate the format, I hate the uploading app, I hate how most of my fic violates its TOS. I hate how no one can see my responses to comments, so it's like I'm PMing thank yous to all of my commenters. Experiment: failed.

I tried posting at AOOO, but I just couldn't figure it all out. I eventually figured out fanfiction.net, but it wearies me. I still read a lot there and comment, but I just get tired at the thought of posting at these places AND here at LJ. I became your friend here, probably because someone recced one of your stories somewhere, and I really liked it. Word of mouth (word of net?) goes a long way here too. People will find you if your stuff is good enough - and your stuff is indeed good enough!

AO3 isn't that bad, posting-wise. There's just a lot of drop-down menus to get used to, but after that you're home free. FF.net annoys me because you have to upload documents before you can then opt to post them. It feels like an unnecessary step.

I'm not really worried about being found, anymore. I think I've probably acquired all the readers I'm going to get. ;)

Yeah, I totally had to google that.

I gave up on ff.net some time ago, then had someone, like, BEGGING for me to post there, so I put a couple of things up.

It's just not where my target readership lives these days, ya know?

I am surprised you stuck with ff.net as long as you did. Their upload client is a nightmare and I never got over my hatred of it enough to post one story.

Are you leaving the account there though? I may or may not read on my phone as a way to survive boring-as-hell 2 hour lectures...

Oh, yeah. The account is staying up, I just won't be posting new stuff there anymore.
