Small change in this journal

Due to some recent anon comments to my fanfic that were downright rude/possibly someone trolling me and other commenters in the entry, I am now screening anon comments AND forcing anon commenters to verify that they're "real" with CAPTCHA.

This sucks, because I know a couple of people do comment here who don't have LJ accounts. You can blame the internet trolls for this extra level of hassle in your lives. I will NOT have people coming in and being rude to me and to my friends in my own space.

Even if you think my fanfiction is utter shit (which is your right), I will thank you to mind your manners. If you can't manage that, I will delete your comment with extreme prejudice. Fair warning.

((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))

Trolls tick me off.

More and more I am going with the theme that people just suck...really. Where someone gets off thinking it is okay to be rude I will never ever know...

Dude, I've had my own recent encounters with internet nastiness (not on LJ, on one of the sites I write for) and it boggles my mind. I mean, there's constructive criticism, there's good old fashioned dissent, but then there's just plain nastiness and I don't understand what the point of that is.

I'm sorry you're under a troll invasion. Hopefully your fortifications keep them out.

I would just like to say it's my opinion that your fic is AWESOME and the people that know that won't mind having to verify. I know I wouldn't mind. But you're right, it's not fair to those to have to do that because of some crazies that have nothing better to do with their time than troll and be complete and utter morons. But this extra security is a line of salt that's needed to keep the fuglies out so you gotta do what you gotta do. And those that appreciate what you do by sharing your awesomeness with us will back you 100% :D Thanks for letting us know. *hugs*

Sorry to hear that you are having to deal with that crap. Geesh, people need to get a life. Your stories are made of awesome in my book. I love your Fusion verse so much, I'm thinking of marrying it! LOL

<--- Upset for you, he is.

Salt away, dearest, and if we can help with the additional need for burning, let us know.

Er, um... That arrow should be pointing the other way.

hee!!

I'm so sorry you had nasty comments! That is so not right!!! GRR!!! :)

What is WRONG with this world that we can't be, at the very least, civil to one another, even if griping? Befuddles me. What's more, I can't for the life of me think of anything so objectionable in your fic that would merit venom.

Trolls are so passé.

WOW

[identity profile] marchia43.livejournal.com 2012-03-07 10:54 am (UTC)(link)
I totally agree with you. If people don't have the guts to write their opinion's of your stories with their own name/ID then F*** 'em.
I have read stuff that I haven't liked but I've never written an anonymous review, nor have I flamed anyone. My opinion is - if you don't like it, don't read it.

Thanks

M

Do what you have to do -- I'm behind you 100%. Fandom in general has become much less civil of late. And those who are too cowardly to post under their "real" persona? In addition to being cowardly cowards, they suck.

As an anonymous (for the moment anyway) reader of your work, I just want to come out and say that a) I think your fic is unbelievably awesome, those morons don't know what they're talking about and b) I totally understand your need to put a safeguard on anonymous comments. Who knows, might give me the kick up the backside I need to actually get an account myself! :)

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2012-03-07 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you very much! I am always happy to encourage account creation, but I understand why people don't. I'm just sorry that others are abusing the privilege of anonymous commenting and thus screwing over the nice anons like yourself.

[identity profile] akintay.livejournal.com 2012-03-07 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll never get why people leave rude comments on fics. If you don't like something, don't read it.

[identity profile] annie200.livejournal.com 2012-03-07 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
My mother always taught me: "If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing."
The more I read about this kind of nonsense, the more I realise how right she was.
I am so sorry this has happened to you, and thank you for all the pleasure you have given me. Please don't let this put you off!

[identity profile] jesseofthenorth.livejournal.com 2012-03-07 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry you are getting trolled :(
Also
Of course people have the right not to like pretty much anything. What they don't have is the right to come here and be a dick to you over a difference in taste.

Mind your manners is an axiom more people would do well to take to heart.

[identity profile] sinka.livejournal.com 2012-03-07 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Everybody has the right to have their own opinion, sure, but there is never excuse for rudeness. And those anon cowards who don't even dare to show their faces get on my nerves.

Besides if somebody doesn't have anything good to say, why say it? something you don't enjoy can be gold for others. Go write your own perfect fic and just skip those you don't like, and don't go hurting people that's working very hard and for free!

I'm sorry you had to go through that and I hope the troll invasion didn't affect you too much. You are incredibly talented, and nice, and giving, so don't let them get to you. *hugs*

[identity profile] fullmoon02.livejournal.com 2012-03-19 11:02 am (UTC)(link)
I totally agree with you about having some manners. It's really annoying sometimes to notice how rude people can be just because they can say bad things anonymously.
I hope that this new policy will help and people would just stop trolling once and for all.
