Okay, folks. I will be away from LJ for the next little while. Wanna know why?

I am having a SUPERNATURAL MARATHON at my house this weekend. Oh, yes. I have invited three victims friends, we are making food (there will be cake! It's not a lie!), and popcorn, and then I am going to introduce them to the joy that is Supernatural.

Right now I am at one conversion and counting. I've promised another coworker that I will bring SPN to work during night shift. I'm hoping for a five-for-five conversion rate here, but we shall see. :)

lassiterfics just expressed my relationship with SPN perfectly:

"SPN is like that guy everyone tells me to stay away from because he's a total douchetard and I used to be like, "Yeah, I know, did you hear what he did to some girl?" BUT THEN, last month I was drunk at a party and kind of bereft because Merlin just dumped me, and then SPN was like, "Hey cutie, I've got some folklore and incest back at my place, you wanna come over?" and I was like, "Sure why not," 'cos SPN's kind of cute and I guess I could do with a one-night stand. But then SPN whipped out his apocalypse shit, and now suddenly I'm skipping classes and blowing off my friends to snort subtext and smoke religious mythos with him. AND HERE I AM, a broken woman. Sigh."

Ah, corrupting your friends into SPN is fun. A few weeks ago, I had some people over Saturday night, and we decided to do SPN marathon on Sunday.

It was hilarious how easy it was. They were like "Another episode!" and I was like, "It's three in the afternoon, and we've watched six in a row. Can we go outside now? I promise I'll show more after."

I lent one of them my recordings, and she's now 100% up to date. In about a month.

I converted my sister recently AND my sister's friend.

My sis' friend was going on and on about how hot some guy on So You Think You Can Dance Canada was and then I found a gif of Sam where he's coming out of the shower with just the itty bitty towel around his waist... you know the one of which I speak I'm sure. So I showed it to her and she paused and then looked at me and said:

So thursday nights? I can do that.

My older sister just plowed through S1 and is going on about Dean. She's a total Dean Girl.

Congrats on the conversion. My attempts have all been shot down. I tried to get the security guard where I work interested, gave him a sample of episodes, and he told me that both he and his wife thought it sucked. O_O! Well we went to high school together and his taste in entertainment was questionable then too. *shrug*

Woo marathon! It's so much more fun to watch it with friends– that's how I got hooked! Except that we were doing 4 or so a week rather than a weekend marathon, and I could not stand it and ended up watching them all in a couple weeks by myself. And then again with the group. I've seen every ep at least twice, most of the good ones more than that...I sometimes wonder if I should feel bad about the time sink, haha

I can't get any of my friends to watch it with me. :((( Though I'm going to bring it to my brother's next month when I'm visiting him and make him watch it. He saw Lazarus Rising when he was visiting me a couple of years ago and was intrigued, but I can't get him to watch. So I'm going to force him. And he's going to like it damn it! Have fun!

Woohoo! More fangirls for the Cult! I've already recruited a few from work, and about a dozen of my friends. I'm one of those dorks who can turn anything into a SPN reference, and then I have to explain the context of the joke I just made, and before you know it, I have another person asking me to borrow a copy of Season 1 so they can check it out. Hee! I am SO excited to have met you! The conversion went really, really well (and supper was yummy, yes, thank you).

I was a little surprised that you'd actually read some of my stuff. I thought I was pretty isolated in my little corner of fandom. :)

We should get together at some point and have a Supernatural evening. Maybe involve le_maistre_e, too, for good measure.
