Crap.
Between work and the cat being missing and sundry other random stressors, I haven't written a word of my BigBang since Sunday.
Due date is Saturday. I hope I have until midnight, because otherwise, it ain't happening. I'm still at least 10K short of my end.
I have errands to run right now, and then I want to watch SPN tonight, so I don't know how much I'll be able to write today.
*headdesk*
So close, and yet so far.

I've, uh, been kinda counting on that in my own head, because I seem to have decided that submitting my draft without the two planned POVs that I still need to write is cheating. . . .

All I want to do now is knock out that last chapter, and I'll work on fixing it afterward.
My current problem, apart from the fact that I'm still 10K short, is that I have neither a title nor a summary for the story, either.
Oy.

Now I can't stop wondering if my summary won't end up sucking if no one else checks it.
God.
I should have time to do the summary, though. It's the fic itself that's the problem.

I didn't have people beta my summary the last two years running, and year one, my story got snapped up, like, right off. Of course, it also had key buzz words like "post-apocalyptic" and "steampunk" in it, but whatever.

What happens if no artist wants your story? Do you get kicked out of BigBang dragging the Stone of Shame behind you?

I thought the writers outnumbered the artists? Then again, I haven't checked the artist sign-up post in a while...

ETA Er, artist, rather. Two stories. I dunno how it all worked.
no subject
All righty. Well, I pity the poor soul who's going to have to slog through my 100-odd pages of fic. Do they get to read the first draft? 'Cause that would be massive cause for anxiety on my part. Egads.

What on EARTH did I sign up for?
...
Of course, this'll all be moot if I manage not to finish this thing in time.
God. Next year? Case fic. Salt 'n' burn. End of story.

But then, I'm generally a short form writer. This sucker is shaping up to be the longest SPN fic I've ever written -- and I keep convincing myself it's awful.

ME TOO!
I write short stories. 3,000 to 10,000 words max. There are exactly two exceptions to this rule in my writing, and one was a novel about zombies. Zombies. They write themselves. ;)
I think part of the reason I'm resisting this last chapter is that I've convinced myself that my whole story is crap. *cries*

And of course, I've left the two hardest POVs for me (Ruby and John) to the last minute.
*cliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiings*
If you don't make the deadline, I'll totes do art for your fic for you, anyway.

I wish I could offer you the same, but the best I can manage is poorly-drawn stick figures. I SUCK at art. :)
We'll be fine. You'll see. We'll stick together, bang out the remaining bits of fic, and it will be awesome. Yes.
*cliiiiiiiiiiiings*

Dude, you've seen Dimensions and Verticals, right? Poorly-drawn stick figures ROCK.
*cliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiings back*

OH MY GOD. How did I ever miss that? That's BRILLIANT.
But yeah. My poorly-drawn stick figures cannot come close to approximating what you managed there. :)

Someday, I'll figure out how to sequel it. JUST BECAUSE I CAN.
no subject
And please keep at it, we want to read!

I'm not giving up until one minute before deadline, promise.

You definitely can get 10,000 words written by midnight. I wrote the first 10,000 words of my BB in a few days, and I'm an absurdly slow writer.
(although I also had two people beta read my summary because I'm horrible at summaries!)

I *think* I can get it done, if I can get into a "groove" of sorts. I write pretty quickly, so as soon as I've sorted it out in my head, it ought to take ten to twelve hours of consecutive writing. I think.

How many people do you know who've given up? That sounds awfully worrisome...

I'm one click away from giving up and making it another common story without the pressure of the deadline. But I wanted it to be bigbang *wails in frustration*
We should cheer each other *cheers for you*
