ratherastory | A quick apology

Real Life is taking up all my time. When I'm not working night shifts I'm either sleeping (inadequately) or dealing with house and family things. So I basically have almost no time. I check Twitter in short bursts here and there, because it's the only way I can really stay connected to people, but I may have to back off on that too, because it's taking up more time than I can probably spare.

I've stepped back a bit from my mod duties in the comms I run, and recruited volunteers to help with the work load where needed. Hopefully that will make up for my absence lately, because I was feeling really badly about letting down everyone who was counting on me as a mod.

I'm not writing, either, of course. I don't think I'm going to be writing at all, either fanfic or original stuff. It was nice while it lasted. So if you're hanging on here in the hopes of seeing more fic, I'm afraid you're going to be disappointed.

And, naturally, I haven't had time to answer the few comments people have been leaving. I'm really sorry about this, but I don't foresee any of this changing, well, ever. Certainly not in the next few months, probably even a year or indefinitely.

Anyway, this is me apologizing for the fact that I'm not around anymore and likely won't be.

I hope most of your stress is positive and not because of bad things happening. Just remember to take care of yourself and relax once in a while.

You'll write again when there's a spot in your life that will suit it, and the muse tickles your toes. Many a professional fiction writer has said one of the best things you can do to fill the creative well is TO LIVE.

You didn't let anyone down, or at least not me. I understand when life gets too tough and we all move on. It happens, I've understood every single time when a friend announced they were sort of 'moving on' which is natural. So try not to guilt yourself too much over it. I mean LJ and fandom is supposed to be fun, not a chore that you'll feel guilty over when you don't do something. When it starts becoming that I can understand why it would start to be stressful, as I assume it was for you.

I hope you get your personal life worked out so that you aren't so stressed! And remember, only come back or dive back in if you want to. If you don't that's perfectly okay as well.

Oh, hey there. I understand overwhelming life-stress, I really do. And so much of the tone of this entry strikes me as really sad -- even if not meaning you're sad, but overwhelmed and stressed and cut off and feeling like you only have this many followers because we want you to post more stories. We all sometimes need to back off from fandom when it gets too draining or other aspects of life take over. It's okay.

Fandom is a community. I've learned that in my ten-plus years here. We support each other however we can, and we care about each other on a very genuine level. So I just wanted to offer hugs, whatever I can, and let you know I really hope things ease up for you, sleep becomes easier and more restful, and you manage to stay in touch with your friends.

It's so very true that RL comes first! It does sound like you're really stressed and maybe a wee bit overwhelmed, and I hope that that improves for you! It may be difficult, but it's also important to take care of your own health and well-being.
Make no mistake, I adore your fics and will really miss them, but maybe one day, when things get better, you may write again, and I'll likely be out here, somewhere, still. :)

Life gets busy - spoken from experience. In my case, with extended family in the house (we're a three gen household currently), it can be a little frantic. Just look after yourself, and we'll catch you on the flipside!

I'm sorry you're so stressed.

Please don't let being friended by lots of LJ peeps cause you further stress. I, for one, am sticking around to read anything you want to say about anything, and just to be here when and if you stop by. I wouldn't want to miss a new story or an opportunity for lending an ear and/or trying to be supportive if you need.

I'm sorry that life is really busy for you at the moment. I too am really busy and have found it really difficult to be online and have a 'real life'

Pretty much all of the friends that I have made on LJ have done the same thing and moved on. Life gets busy and hobbies get back-burnered as other activities take their places. I don't think it's something to feel guilty about, because it's just a natural thing. I shall call this goodbye for awhile, and we'll see what happens. *hugs*

Taking care of yourself is the most important thing! Just remember that you have our affection and support no matter how you need to balance real life and fandom for your own peace of mind.
