Deep breaths. You've been working so hard on your bb, that you know it's going to be great! Good luck!

*takes deep breaths*

I'm at the point where there's very little I can do, and I have to wait until my posting date, and it's kind of killing me. :P

Hey, you're going to be AWESOME!!!! You have a big cheerleading section, and you're going to be fine!

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-07-03 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
Thank goodness for my cheerleading section. You guys rock, and have (mostly) kept me sane. :)

The wait is driving me nuts. ;)

[identity profile] greeneyes-fan.livejournal.com 2010-07-02 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
YAY ratherastory is posting soon and this is too awesome for punctuation

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-07-03 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
Aww, you're so sweet!

[identity profile] calamitycrow.livejournal.com 2010-07-03 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
((snuggles and purrs with you and sneakily sneaks you the good tequila))

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-07-03 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you.

I am trying not to think about it by working on my Summergen prompt. Next time, no crossovers. This one's a bitch.

I may involve alcohol in a moment. ;)

[identity profile] calamitycrow.livejournal.com 2010-07-03 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
((huggles you some more))

How's your human's BigBang going, kitty?

[identity profile] calamitycrow.livejournal.com 2010-07-03 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
my human is madly trying to get the fic wrapped up by July 4th so it can be betaed one last time?

I have been feeding her a steady diet of jalapenos and coffee this week, which the guy at the pet store said is the preferred feed for Texans, and it seems to be working.

I just wish the breed was a little...well smarter, you know? She knew the bigbang was due this month, but she kept on writing other stuff...

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-07-03 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
My cats utterly sympathize with you, kitty. Turns out Montrealers have a genetic defect that involves massive amounts of procrastination. They mostly survive on coffee, beer and poutine, though. ;)

[identity profile] elsewhere-kels.livejournal.com 2010-07-03 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
YOU WILL BE GREAT. AND ALL WILL BE WELL.

...well, except for poor Sammy. XD

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-07-03 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
True. Sammy will not be well at all, poor bunny.

*clings to you*

[identity profile] elsewhere-kels.livejournal.com 2010-07-03 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
*cuddles tight!*

I love all of your writing, and if it helps, I've developed a whole new respect (or a... deeper respect? Bigger respect?) for authors who actually get through a long fic about important stuff. *pokes her zero words. Like, seriously, zero. There was a sentence, but it wasn't the right start for something important*

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-07-03 01:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Enh. I dunno how "important" the stuff is. It's just that the subject matter is a bit more serious. Mostly, though, it was just an excuse for torturing Sam. And Dean, by extension, because Dean suffers just as much when you torture Sam. ;)

Do you need poking about your BigBang? I currently have 0 words for my Dean/Cas too, so if we ever end up being online at the same time, I'll be happy to have a virtual "writing jam." Those do wonders for my productivity. :)

[identity profile] elsewhere-kels.livejournal.com 2010-07-05 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
Lol, there is truthiness to your words.

Oh thank goodness, I though I was the only one! Also, what is a writing jam? My interest is piqued!

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-07-05 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
A writing jam is when two or more writers get together in order to write. This can happen in person or online. Basically you hang out together and the sheer fact that the other person is writing motivates you to write.

It's a bit easier in person, because there's nothing that'll guilt you more into writing than the sight of the other person clacking away on their keyboard, but with a little bit of determination it can work over chat as well.

My summergen is eating my brain, in other news. :P

[identity profile] elsewhere-kels.livejournal.com 2010-07-05 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
Ahh, I see! Yes, that is a good idea! And better then when you're on a group chat and a COUPLE of people are writing because then you can't let yourself get distracted by conversations like "Holy crap Dean's hands are sexy. And he is so lovely in his Manpain." | "IKR??" (...And there is eventually more intelligent meta XD)

I'm dying my mom's hair for her in a couple of minutes, but do you think you might be online tomorrow around this same time? I would love to have a writing jam!

Summergen is the crossover one, right? OMG XD

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-07-05 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
Excellent.

There is a very good chance I will be online tomorrow night. I'll have to confirm, since there is an off-chance I'll have a friend over, but mostly I should be here. :)

Yay writing jam!

And yes, summergen is the crossover one. It's becoming a bit of a monster.

[identity profile] elsewhere-kels.livejournal.com 2010-07-05 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
Hooray! =D I will look forward to it! (And write as much as I can until then XD)

Just as well that half of the crossover is SPN, then, isn't it? What is it a crossover with? (Or are you not allowed to tell?)

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-07-05 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
I can tell you in PM, but my prompter is on my flist, and the crossover is so specific that they would totally recognize themselves.

So far, the crossover has ended up being a 1st-person POV from the POV of the main character of the other show. Sam 'n' Dean are there, but very different from how I usually handle them.

[identity profile] wave-obscura.livejournal.com 2010-07-03 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
IT'S OKAY! IT'S OKAY-- IT'S ALLLLLLL GONNA BE O... K.... *

Sorry. I am all whacked out on DayQuil and I just watched Simon Says.

Seriously, though. *rubs your shoulders* I'm sure it will be awesome.

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-07-03 01:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"Simon Said" is one of my favourite episodes. Right up there with "The Usual Suspects."

DayQuil, huh? That sucks. Summer colds are the worst.

My theory is that you should inflict equal misery on the Winchesters: that always makes me feel better. ;)

[identity profile] crayola-fics.livejournal.com 2010-07-03 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I know how you feel.

TEN DAYS!

*hyperventilates with you*

(it'll be fine. It'll be great, even!)

[identity profile] pkwench.livejournal.com 2010-07-03 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
It'll be awesome. And your craptacular beta reader swears to have the final read through done tonight. As penance for being so slow, said beta reader also wants to know if you'd like a .pdf file with the final art for those readers that like having such thing so they can download them and print it off on scrap paper at work when no one's looking because they have a job that could be manned by a trained monkey with a coffee addiction and they're very often very bored!. Or something. :D

[identity profile] pkwench.livejournal.com 2010-07-03 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
*looks up* Uh ... I swear I meant to reply to the post and not your comment. Sorry, [livejournal.com profile] crayola_fics!

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-07-03 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
LJ is weird that way.

It's easier with the comment forms back to the standard, but it still screws up sometimes.

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-07-03 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey! No badmouthing my awesome beta reader!

A pdf with the final art? Holy crap YES.

I'm trying to figure out how to make a thumbnail of the gorgeous art so that I won't break my friends' LJ pages when I post this monster next Friday, and I think I may be failing spectacularly.

I'm also not looking forward to the TONS of html coding ahead of me. ;)

[identity profile] pkwench.livejournal.com 2010-07-03 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Gyah! I wish that I had photoshop on this comp. But, since it's the cobbled together rebuild until the father unit and myself go nuts building a new one later this summer, it seemed stupid to install it and then do it again. WOE.

That said, you could just do the html for a reduced presenting size of the image with a height and width tag. That's easy enough.

If you send me the final art, I will be happy to do a pdf version. Just give me some idea of how you'd like the art included - if there's chapter division art or what have you. :D

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-07-04 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
LJ has given me a shortcut to create a thumbnail, so I think I'm okay.

I don't think there's anything other than what you saw.

So I guess just putting the art on the first/cover page will be fine. :)

*dances excitedly*

See, now I feel bad because I am looking forward with enjoyment to something that has tortured Sam and you. But less than a week to a lot of Sam whump and Dean angst? I just can't make that a bad thing.

I seem to recall that Montreal features many excellent and calming pastries . . .

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-07-04 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
LOL

Now I want a croissant. :P
