What is it with the really hard-to-answer questions?

Umm... man. I'm torn between the last death of "Mystery Spot" and the death scene in "Dark Side of the Moon." Because, let's face it, Dean's growl of "When I come back, I'm gonna be pissed," did things to me. Rrrowr.

*cough*

Um.

Right.

No, I'm going to go with the "permanent" death in Mystery Spot. It's so quiet and that's what makes it so horrific. It's off-screen, just the sound of a gunshot, and Dean's already gone by the time Sam can get to him. In short: OH GOD MY HEART!

Oh yes. My exact thoughts. I was always so disappointed that we never got to see Dean's fury unleashed on those hunters when he came back, because angry, overprotective Dean...you just can't have too much of that.

I don't know when I'll be able to make myself watch "Mystery Spot" a second time. So. Devastating.

Mystery Spot didn't do anything for me. This is because I was spoiled as hell for the show as a whole when I saw it- it's the price you pay for getting interested in things based on what you see about them on tvtropes. I knew Dean was going to die and go to hell at the end of the season and then get pulled out by an angel when I started watching the show. I mean, I was watching season 4 as it aired and then catching up with the previous seasons in a somewhat arbitrary order during the rest of the week.

But even if I had been spoiled on "when I get back, I'm going to be pissed," it wouldn't have mattered. There is no spoiling on that; it's too damn awesome for words.

And WHY didn't it spawn a whole cottage industry of coda fics, that's what I want to know. I only saw a handful. There weren't enough. And some of them were more cry-y and less revenge-y. Boo.

My favorite Dean death scene is a tie between the first one in Mystery Spot and the growly, accenty, just so damned hot one in Dark Side of the Moon. The look on Dean's face as he's looking up at Sam after he's been shot just kills me.

I like the Mystery Spot death scene because in that single snapshot you see everything that means anything to the Winchesters is in it. It's beautifully framed with the Impala behind them. It's family, and love, in a single shot.

Yes, this. I love Mystery Spot. It's probably still my favourite episode. Only SPN can seem to play the dicotomy of comedy vs. tragedy so well, and they even manage to do it within the same epsiode. Mystery Spot is really the epitomy of why I love SPN so much. Every aspect of the show is essentially summed up and showcased in one episode.

So, no love for No Rest for the Wicked? I was biting my knee watching that one. Awesomely gruesome, with heart felt screaming no less, and the tears dripping off Sam's nose. Bless.

There is love, but not as much for the actual death as for the aftermath. My heart broke for Sam, but there was other stuff going on: Lilith and hellhounds and gah! It was all a little overwhelming. :)

But yeah, there is absolutely love for that too.
