Day 16: 30 Days of Supernatural

Day 16 - An episode that scared you

You will laugh, but the first time I watched Bloody Mary it creeped me right the hell out. The shadowy figure in the mirror? GAH.

Then the way the spirit crab-walked its way out of the mirror during the final confrontation then lurches at them all broken and horrible-looking? DOUBLE-GAH.

And then bloody tears. TRIPLE-GAH.

Hey, a simple well-done creepy can be scarier than the best special effects!

That one and the one with Amy Acker & the lake (forget the names when Ive not had my coffee yet) TERRIFIED my youngest. (Of course it didn't help that I was watering a repotted plant in the bathroom during the show and kid walked in to see muddy water in the tub.)

Oh, "Dead in the Water." Yes, holy crap, SO CREEPY.

Your poor youngest. :D

Yeah, that one.

Oh, bah. She grew up watching Buffy and Angel. She SHOULD be able to handle a ghost or two.

Buffy and Angel were never as frightening to me as SPN.

She was 4 when it started...

O_O

Okay... so not exactly the target age.

Nope -- but the rule was: if you didn't want to go to bed, and refused to stay in said bed, then you had to watch Mummy's shows and SHUT UP.

Heh. Fair enough!

I WILL NOT LAUGH. For months after I saw that episode I jumped out of my skin every time my reflection in a mirror caught my eye in a darkened room. It scared the living daylights out of me. For some reason the fact that you had to summon her just made it more terrifying, rather than less.

That episode was the reason I didn't start watching again until season 4, at which point I watched everything before that. It just freaked me out entirely, since I had a friend back in high school that used to play it whenever we ended up staying at the school building after dark. And for the record, an empty, darkened school building is one of the creepiest things ever when someone is trying to call a ghost through the bathroom mirror.

Oh yes, it's hands down the scariest! I'm terrified of Bloody Mary! Woo!

Bloody Mary and Family Remains.

Oh my god, those two creeped me right out of my skin for aaaages.

I've seen Bloody Mary often enough for the terror to be a little second-hand, but nonetheless. I REFUSE TO LOOK AT MIRRORS IN THE DARK. EVER.

I had nightmares from the Pilot. Every time I tried to sleep I would see people on the ceiling. It was very unnerving. Bloody Mary freaked me out but the worst one for me was Hookman. Hookman was my urban legend I was terrified of as a child. Some stories never lose their power.

I know this is going to sound weirdish -- one of my favorite eps is "On the Head of a Pin," but the first time I saw Alistair -- I was afraid of him, was cringing when I watched him, and not just because of everything going on between him and Dean. That episode is filled with lots of great stuff but Alistair -- and I love him here -- scares me to fucking death. Like, if I met up with him in Hell -- or wherever -- I would be afraid of him. He creeps me out that much.

Yep, totally understand you and, yes, this is the one episode that scared the shit out of me too. Took me about two weeks before I could look into a mirror again. Crazy, I know! But what can you do? :D
