Yeah, gotta agree with you there. I have mixed feelings about the characterization of canon Castiel over time, but 4.1 Castiel was the coolest thing ever. I think 4.1 overall may be my favorite Spn episode for visuals -- the whole initial sequence of Dean's resurrection, the breaking glass moments, the Castiel entrance. And pretty much everything that the show does with angel wings is amazing -- I love the dead angel burned wings effect.

I found that the characterization was occasionally uneven, but I have a real soft spot for Castiel overall, and I absolutely agree with you on the visuals of 4.01: powerful stuff. The only thing that rivals those visuals are the angel death scenes, with the scorched wing imprints on the ground. Just beautiful.

Yeah...you're not going to get any argument from me. Especially considering that Castiel *keeps* getting fantastic entrances. But anyway, if you'd chosen anything else, I might have lost respect for you as a person ;-)

I'm working my way through a re-watch, and just got past ELaC. I snickered so much during the boys' first run-in with the Harvelle women. My favorite moment is when Dean tries to school Jo and gets punched and loses the rifle because he got cocky. The dynamic in that moment is what I would have loved to have seen more of between those two characters.

Yes, this! The fact that they only got out of it because Ellen figured out who they were only makes it more awesome. :D

I love Ellen. She's so fierce.
