I think I may be suicidal

Is it really crazy of me to think that [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang sounds like a fantastic idea?

I've done [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang for two years running. Both years I freaked out, both years I changed fics in, like, early April, both years I thought I was insane . . . and both years it was awesome.

Can't hurt to try!

[identity profile] roque-clasique.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
I'M DOING IT YOU SHOULD TOO.

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 06:45 am (UTC)(link)
I'm doomed. Then again, I've done NaNoWriMo successfully for years, so why should this be any different, right?

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 06:46 am (UTC)(link)
You are?!?

BOOYAH! *does a dance of joy*

Do they take anyone, or do I have to somehow qualify? (I am looking over the community now and can't find anything specific...)

[identity profile] lelaro.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
do it!

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
It's looking dangerously like I might just do that.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME? :P

Dude, this gives you much more time with a much lower word count. And art!

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 08:01 am (UTC)(link)
True, but no one requires that a NaNo work be finished: it just has to hit 50K. It's also allowed to suck. ;)

Art is a pretty awesome motivator, though.

[identity profile] animotus.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 01:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahaha!!!
You must sign-up!You will surely freak out and get depressed and then get all excited and all that jazz, but it's an awesome experience!!!I did it last year as a graphic maker and I can assure it is FUN!

[identity profile] pkwench.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 02:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I think whatever you write will be fantastic. So, you must. And 20k? Pft. I know you can write 8 in a day without blinking. You'll have oodles of time. Might require something of an epic story, though. Something with teeth.

[identity profile] mimblexwimble.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
DO EEEEEEEEEEEEET! *rapid-fire poking*

[identity profile] dante-s-hell.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 04:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Go for it! You and your fics are awesome! Can't wait to see what you do with the bigbang. No pressure or anything ;-)

If you need a sounding board, feel free to give me a holler!

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL

I'm almost sold. I'm waiting for [livejournal.com profile] wendy to make that post she promised on Monday, because I'm not sure if I'm even allowed to sign up. If I'm not, well, it's not like I won't be writing fic in the meantime. ;)

Thanks for the encouragement!

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I have two ideas rattling around in my head for that, actually. (I can do 8K in a day, yes, but only if I have the whole day off, am really inspired, and have a LOT of of coffee. NaNoWriMo is more my speed: 1,500 to 2,000 words a day is my usual limit)

The first idea is a riff off of Dante's Inferno, and the other is that Five Years That Never Happened that's been kicking around in my head.

So, yeah. I think it can be done. :)

Thanks for the encouragement!

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL

So far people seem pretty adamant that I sign up. I'm just waiting for confirmation from [livejournal.com profile] wendy that I am indeed allowed to sign up. :)

[identity profile] animotus.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
You're cracking me up!:P
You're not allowed uh?There's no such thing like "qualified/not qualified" bb,anyone can sign up!And you are a very good writer so don't even think about having doubts! On monday, when the post is ready, you go and sign up,you just have to be prepared about what you wanna write,Gen or J2 or whatever!;D

[identity profile] pkwench.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's easier to kick it out when you're really feeling it, that's for sure. But this time frame seems really workable. I say if it fits in with your schedule and what you've going on, go for it!

Both ideas would rock. You know how I'm partial to the five years in question, so I won't comment!

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! I will probably take you up on that. Luckily people seem to be excited about my potentially participating. :D

[identity profile] mimblexwimble.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
No, no, no, absolutely anyone can join! It's an open challenge. Plus, you can drop out if the pressure's getting to ya. Not that I'll let you. <3

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, how am I supposed to know? :D

[livejournal.com profile] wendy replied to my friendly query with "wait for Monday when we'll post the rules," so I was being good and waiting!

Knowing me, it'll be gen. Writing sex scenes frightens me. ;)

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL

Yeah. Part of me really wants to write those five years, but so far they're rattling around in my head in the form of vignettes, so I'm not sure it'll work. I'm going to write it no matter what, though.

Actually, your cave prompt might end up being promising, depending on which way I take it.

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, cool. Okay, well, you can pretty much count me in. I'll be signing up first thing Monday.

God help me, I already have ideas...

[identity profile] animotus.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh no,don't worry, you CAN sign up!There will be rules, but nothing about qualification...I guess!Unless this year they are changing things but I doubt it!;D

There aren't many Gen writers so I'm glad you're going to be one of the few brave Gen writers!;D
The most important rule is that you shouldn't talk about your story,I mean...fics will be claimed after reading a little summary and it'll be anonymous!Meaning:the mods are going to post all the summaries...without the authors' names!

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2010-01-09 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, interesting.

Also, crap. Am I allowed to pick one or two people to flail at in terms of figuring out sticky plot things?
