Writing projects, now a rolling list with strikethroughs

This is an attempt at a sanity-saving measure for myself. Those of you who are familiar with this LJ know that I have no self-control whatsoever and thus tend to overcommit myself to fic. So now I've created a list of writing projects so I can keep on top of my deadlines and such.

Challenges & fic exchanges:

1- spn_solstice : Rough draft due June 30th. Finished draft due August 21st.

2- spn_j2_bigbang: Posting date of July 9th.

3- spn_summergen: Due July 31st.

4- castielfest: Due August 9th.

5- castielfest pinch-hit. Also due August 9th.

6-

deancasbigbang: Rough draft due August 20th. Posting date of October 12th. First draft is complete at 36,200 words, and is with the beta for some much-needed TLC.

7- spn_summergen: 1,000 words minimum. Pinch-hit, due August 20th.

8- summer_sam_love: Episode tag to 2.5 "Simon Said." Due August 23rd.

9- summer_sam_love: Episode tag to 4.20 "The Rapture." Due September 11th. (Yes, I signed up for a second, because I'm a masochist)

10- ~~The Dean-focused schmoopfest at hoodie_time. Yeah, I couldn't resist signing up. Deadline is June 30th. It's comment-fic, how hard can it be? Yeah. Thought so.~~ Done and posted!

11-

hc_bingo: Five fics minimum, due by December 31st.

schmoop_bingo: Five fics minimum, due by December 31st. One down, four to go.

13-

spn_30snapshots: "This Never Happened." I converted this little 'verse to take up the challenge. Maximum 1,000 words per story. 1 story written, 29 more to go.

14-

werewolfbigbang: 10,000 words minimum, rough draft due September 25th, finished drafts due October 23rd.

15-

kamikazeremix: 1,000 words minimum, due September 27th. The other author imposes the work to be remixed. Yikes!

16-

girlsofspn: 1,000 words minimum. Posting is between Nov. 1st and Nov. 30th.

17-

amplificathon podbang: the goal is to record a podfic of at least 20,000 words (so about 2 to 2.5 hours) for December 1st.

18-

deancastiel: Secret Angels IV fic exchange. 2,000 words minimum, due September 17th.

19-

spn_las: Last Author Standing. One fic every two weeks, starting from a prompt. Maximum 1,000 words (thank God). First round, three challenges written, waiting on voting for third round.

20-

help_pakistan: Charity fic of minimum 2,000 words, to the highest bidder, prompt of their choice. Might not even be SPN. Due October 1st.

21-

peppervl: she won a fic from me fair and square, and requested whumped!Sam and caring!Gabriel, preferably with plottiness. No deadline, but I should really get on that.

22-

spook_me: a horror-fic challenge! No wordcount length, due October 26th. It will have zombies!

23-

team_free_love: Secret Love Fic Exchange. It's all about Sam, Dean, Cas and Gabriel. Minimum 2,000 words, due October 25th.

WIPs & fics that are started but need more work and/or finishing

1- "Roses in December": the current WIP, which is both eating my brain and perplexing me, because I don't really know where it's going. I have an idea, and I have a feeling it's going to take a while to get there. Enjoying the ride, though. Currently at 10 chapters.

2- "Never Go Home": Yes, the deaf!Dean fic that's been sitting on my hard drive since January. I've decided to rip it apart, and post the flashback as a stand-alone, and then re-work the story that happens during the series premiere. Pre-quel is finished and posted.

3- ~~"Take A Sad Song": The Missouri-centered fic that I haven't touched in a while. It's a one-shot, so once I figure out what I want to do with it, it should work out pretty well.~~ I wrote a different Missouri fic, so "Take A Sad Song" is being benched for now until I decide what I want to do with it, if anything.

Fic ideas for the future

1- Flagstaff. Yeah, I know, everyone and their cousin has done it, but I kind of want to try anyway.

2- ~~A bit of sick!Dean, in which Sam & Dean go up against Pestilence. Sam, by virtue of being Lucifer's vessel, is immune to Pestilence's charms. Dean? Not so much.~~ Covered in the schmoop meme fic for

hoodie_time.

3- The "Ex Crucio" sequel, which I actually started but don't like, and am going to start over.

4- "The Scottish Case Fic": aka the case fic in which Sam and Dean end up investigating a supposedly haunted production of Macbeth. :::ETA::: Now a special project to be cowritten with

bellatemple! I'm excited.

5- I'm toying with the idea of another story in the same 'verse as the malaria!Dean fic, maybe from Sam's POV. I kind of like the OC doctor I created, Leonda, and I want to play with her some more. :)

6- Either a quick one-off or maybe a short casefic involving Jerry Bonavista, one of the OCs from Take Me Home. The guy with the little dog named Zevon. I'd kind of like the boys to hook up with him for a while.

7- Maybe a ficlet in the same verse as Blind My Eyes. One-eyed!Sam isn't getting enough love lately.

8- The casefic that's not a casefic that's really about how Dean gets back into hunting and is reunited with Sam, post 5.22. :)

9- This is the one I'm intitling "

ratherastory is INSANE": I want, as an experiment, to try and write a tag/coda/whatever to every single SPN episode starting with the pilot and going all the way to 5.22. I don't know if I can pull it off, but I've been thinking about it for at least a month now, and I'm weirdly excited about it. I'm going to try to combine it with

spnquotefic, because that comm is awesome and I haven't touched it yet. I might also try to do it with

spn_las, because it's quick. I don't know yet.

10- A prompt by

elsewhere_kels: Dean "had so much potential" in Hell. I imagine he even built up a bit of sway - like new souls arriving heard about how horrible it was to be on Dean's rack.

Where is the fic where, when pushed to the brink with demons, Dean is forced to... throw his weight around a little? For whatever reason, Dean is in a situation where (to save Sam or Cas or something else very important) Dean has to remind the demons of their place? Where is Creepy!BAMF Dean? Who is later all "ohshitohshit" ptsd with flashbacks and needs to be comforted because he feels SO GUILTY for the things he did in Hell but damn, didn't he show the demons who was boss? Wasn't he Alistair's FAVOURITE student?

Basically... Re-Awoken!Hell-Dean with a schmoopy/h/c(/smutty) ending. I haven't found this anywhere, and I've WANTED it since 4x01. Any takers?

11- Sam is kidnapped by faeries as a kid and isn't seen for seven years.

12- Curtain!Fic with blind!Sam. Don't ask, I don't even know.

13- Crowley gives Sam and Dean hellhound puppies as a present. I blame

morganoconner for that one.

14- Impaled!Sam. This is all

de_nugis' fault. I'm just saying.

15- And one to blame on

pkwench: Castiel has a wound that won't heal. aka Fisher King!Cas, which totally makes Dean Percival, and dear God did I just seriously consider making an SPN Grail Quest?

16- Women of SPN. I was thinking of an epistolary-style fic, in which all those strong women who get left behind after the one-shots actually say "To hell with this!" and form a cross-country internet network of women hunters. Women who reject the nomadic lifestyle but still hunt: they set up forums, chat groups, online resources. Form small hunting parties in their towns. Essentially they kick ass and take names, because no supernatural fugly is ever going to threaten their families again.

17- A one-shot missing scene to "Bloody Mary" from Charlie's POV, of her waiting for Sam and Dean to come back, sitting on her bed with her eyes closed.

18- ~~A crack!fic idea that won't leave me alone. Mpreg. Dean gets cursed by a witch into having all the physiological and psychological effects of pregnancy.~~

19- For

roque_clasique, a one-shot in the deaf!Dean verse, in which he and Sam encounter some of Sam's old Stanford bunnies. Sam is conflicted about seeing these people he likes but whom he can't reconcile with his chain-smoking hunting older brother, and Dean is uncomfortable and out of place with the civilian "hearies."

20- A sequel to "Fusion." Say, a casefic in which some sort of supernatural thing starts stalking the town and they have to figure out how to work around the fact that Sam isn't all there and Dean can't really get around like he used to. Oh, and the fact that everyone knows them now and they have roots there. Something like that.

I personally LIKE your idea for the quotefic com. I've been kind of doing a ficlet for every set of prompts but they haven't been tags. Cool idea. :)

Well, I'm not planning to turn the deaf!Dean verse into wincest, but you may have noticed the "blank permission" thing at the top. If you want to write wincest in which Dean is deaf, then by all means! ;)

I'm also ridiculously flattered that you're dreaming about my fic.

My mind, it is a strange place, but I am more than happy to have your fic there.

Writing deaf!Dean might require more research than I am up to at the moment -- I know very little about ASL and deaf culture. Though if I were going to go all wincesty about it, I do like the idea of Sam very consciously using sex to communicate, part of their private, non-auditory language.

I feel like leaving you a general "You are awesome," comment today after that amazing fic-after-fic-after-fic day you gave us. I was getting that nasty taste in my mouth from the rancor one finds in horrible little pockets of this fandom, but hey, we also have incredibly amazing authors who just get better and better and who genuinely love the characters and the show without writing the easy stuff where no one has flaws. You totally rock and you make me much happier about life, and you write, like, A LOT, which is one of the best things of all.

I'm in love with this prompt but have no time, a writer's block, a muse who's talking like a suicidal standing on a bridge and I'm trying to talk her back to me. I gotta admit, OTHOAP intrigued me with the tidbits Alastair dropped about Dean's time in Hell and, well, there's so much yumminess here. But I gotta admit the real draw for this is Dean being all "ohshitohshitohfuckityshit" and ptsd and twitchy and otherwise just having a complete breakdown. And I want a Sam to actually comfort him....

YOU HAVE GOT TO WRITE THIS!!!

Wow... your "fic ideas" list ridiculously appealing! I WANT IT ALL!!! If I had to chose I would give my leg to read #8 and #14... BUT what I really *really* need in my life is:

I've slowed down a bit on the challenges. I kind of took on too many at one point and nearly burned myself out. Luckily I'm still writing away, but I'm going to be taking on fewer challenges in the coming year.

I do hope to get to most of my fic ideas eventually. :)

One of my more recent stories is sort of a curtain fic with blind!Sam, if you're interested. The one titled "Save Me from the Dark."

(FYI, curtain fic is basically stories in which the characters retire and settle down and... buy curtains for the windows. Hence the name.)
