Dear ff.net, I totally forgive you

Okay, not really, but I just got a really nice comment on "Silent Night," so I thought I would try to even the scales a bit by NOT constantly bitching about the reviewers there. ;)

I'm actually hearing impaired in Real Life and this is the *only* deaf!Winchester fic I've read that didn't make me cringe and want to throttle something. And I think the reason was that neither guy makes it an issue AT ALL. Like "it is what it is". Sam doesn't make it an issue and it's not one for Dean until he has communication problems. And you have the best description of what it's like not to hear and only get fragments of lines and stumble along, piecing it together. I love Sam knowing sign language and can actually see both actors using it. But my favorite is Sam just unconsciously making sure his face is well-lit and interpreting for Dean. *sighs*

Awesome job!

Silent Night is one on my "Must read" list because it always intrigues me how non-deaf people perceive The Deaf. I communicated with my deaf dad in LSQ (langage des signes Québecois), the equivalent of ASL but with very different signs. It always piques my curiosity how authors portray their deaf personas and their dilemas. This praise you received makes me want to read yours even more.

*hugs*

Cool!

Well, I look forward to hearing what you have to say about it once you have read it, then.

Hey, did you ever remember why you decided to friend me to begin with? Still curious, here. ;)

LOL, still trying to figure that one out! I think I might have noticed you were from Montreal and I completely forgot about it until you mentioned it. Also, it actually may have been the deaf fic that may have drawn me to you. I know your BB is on my "absolutely need to read" list. Maybe I looked at your masterlist and found more intesting fics to read. I must say, I am as stumped as you! I'm just glad that for whatever reason I friended you, it was no mistake and I am very happy to have done it. You are a wonderful person to talk to and would love to meet with you again. *hugs*

*hugs back*

I am very happy too! :D
