Oh, totally! That's great, may I keep that line?

Oh, my BigBang idea is not sooper seekrit, no worries there. It's just... lacking in plot right now. It's an idea niggling at the back of my mind: all the events of Seasons 3 to 5 happen essentially because of one moment, the one when Sam turns his back on Jake.

If Sam had survived that encounter and been the "last man standing," then the YED's plan would have had to change, wouldn't it? Because no way in hell is Season 2 Sam going to just acquiesce to whatever old Yellow Eyes has to say the way Jake does: he's got Bobby and Dean to back him up.

So I want to see if I can write an AU in which Sam remembers the "down doesn't mean out" rule that his father taught him —maybe he takes out Jake as he's trying to kill him (rather than when he's defenseless on the ground, because, again, no way is Season 2 Sam doing that either), and lives to tell the tale.

That means YED walks away, the Gate to Hell stays closed, Dean doesn't make his deal.

Nonetheless, there are prophecies involved, an End Game that YED has had in mind for thirty-odd years. Presumably, YED has a contingency plan.

So I want to figure out just how things would STILL happen to bring about the apocalypse, but with more of a focus on the boys and less focus on angels and demons.

It's a thought, and I don't know where it will take me. Heck, for all I know, the idea will fall flat and never go anywhere.

(Sorry, that got long-winded)
