It's both heartbreaking and really really nice to see Sam being his old self for a little while. It's the moments like these that show how much he sacrificed.
I also loved how Dean changed after discovering somebody was bothering Sam. Dean's darker hunter-side came to the surface only for a bit but it still made my skin crawl.
