Random pondering about feedback

So I've been trying to catch up on comments to my fic, because I'm behind on everything fandom-related and feeling a bit guilt-ridden as a result. Anyway, that's moving along, so I thought I would indulge my curiosity and ask my ever-understanding flist for your opinions.

Do you guys care at all whether an author replies to your feedback? Do you feel annoyed/insulted/whatever if your comment goes unanswered, especially when you've taken the time to leave really detailed feedback?

To make it easier for y'all, I've made a poll. It's totally not because I like fiddling around with the LJ toys. No. Not at all... *shifty look*

What are your thoughts?

At times I don't care that much as I sadly have started to get used to that many authors does not comment back to me. I know also that my comment for the story is more often to just let the author know I read it and liked it. Though there is times when I read a lot of the same author and give comments after comments but never get a thank you back I start to feel like the author either has to many followers or doesn't care or it might be so the author not like me at all. It also have led to that when I do give a comment I do like the story, because I probably read several stories without leaving anything.

As a writer I do love to get feedback or comments and I would be happy to even get the one telling me only that you been and read the story. Looking at my stories and what I posted tells anyone that not many do comment. You can start wondering if you are any good or if it is a sign that you are bad. I just try to not bother and continue to write and post my stories as I do love to write and it is up to any if they want to read what I write.
