ratherastory: (This Is Stupid)

This can only end in tears

I have been felled by illness, which sucks. Haven't done any writing, got sent home from work yesterday (I looked that bad, apparently), and am now behind on my Christmas errands. Mostly I am spending all my time curled up in a ball and praying for a quick death.

So I am going to watch JP's Christmas Cottage movie. I suspect there may be trauma.

:::ETA:::

Well, that wasn't nearly as bad as I was led to believe it would be. And good Lord, can JP ever turn on the waterworks! It's a talent, man.

The movie is much more awful if you consider what a douche bag Thomas Kinkade is in real life. Like, apparently he dubbed HIMSELF The Painter of Light. Who does that?

Hope you feel better soon. I'm also sick, so I feel your pain. This Photoshop contest of defiled Thomas Kinkade paintings kept me entertained for a good 20 minutes :D

Damn, that's too bad. All my warm fuzzy sentiments for JP are getting tainted, here!

Oh come on, you can still feel warm and fuzzy for JP! To me it just adds an extra layer interest and hilarity to the movie. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to ruin your day :P

Nah, you didn't ruin my day. I'm just sad that JP has to be associated with a guy who's a douchebag in real life.

I tried to look at it as supporting Jpad's career and an excuse to watch him parade around in so much damned knit. Hats and scarves and *smishes*. He was even wearing a scarf during the big waterworks scene, wasn't he? Dear boy.

Kinkade? Ugh, Douchebag of the Light, yes.

Don't go to the bad place honey; just try to forget that it's a "true story" and enjoy the Jpad time. I can't believe how much this movie made me want to take up knitting!

Like I need another kink...

...

...wait, hobby. I meant hobby.

*chuckle*

PS: I love you for the link to the altered Kinkade pieces. There are a couple in there that I find truly heartwarming in that they manage to convey exactly the way I feel about the mans work.

Now...how to get one of these made up to a full sized image and then to use it to replace the actual Kinkade piece my step-MIL has in her living room.

*ponders*

Is it bad I find the defiled versions more pretty and awesome than the originals....?
