Damn. This is confusing.

So it's probably not a secret that I'm in love with a new show and fandom. H50 is delicious in so many ways. SPN is still my first love, and 90% of my plot bunnies are still there, but I have about three stories in various stages of development for H50 too. *headdesk*

ANYWAY.

The problem? The two leads, who are ADORABLY SLASHY EVEN IN CANON, are called Steve and Danny.

So what do I see in all the fic headings? S/D

Yeah.

My first thoughts are always: "What the hell are Sam and Dean doing in an H50 fic?"

*facepalm*


I also need to update my icons to reflect the fact that I am no longer monogamous in my fandom love. I adore all my SPN icons, but there are other shows which need representation now...

Icons are not easy when you have more than one fandom, especially if you don't have a paid account. So I just asked someone to make me a personnal icon as a gift last Christmas. Like that, when I don't have the appropraite icon, I just chose the one with my username.

And yes, S/D totally means Sam/Dean. Stil, the best pairing I've evern seen is AS/S in the Harry Potter fandom : it stands for Albus Severus/Scorpius. But we all call is the ass pairing :)

Albus Severus/Scorpius? My HP must be out of date, because I don't at ALL remember who Scorpius is (I keep thinking Farscape, which is just wrong).

Albus Severus and Scorpius are respectively Harry's and Draco's sons, in the epilogue. I love fics where they're a couple, and their dads have to be nice to each other because they're family now. It's bloody hilarious :D

H50 is insidious!
I had no intention of watching the show and then I accidently started reading a fic with these two guys and one had heat stroke and it was good-- HEY WAIT A FREAKING MINUTE! THAT WAS YOU! YOU MADE ME CHEAT ON SAM AND DEAN! And now I'm watching that other show because I had to see what all the fuss is about! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!
I have no sympathy! Thank god I've only watched 4 episodes! At least I'm not really cheating by ... you know writing them.

You can blame ariadnes_string, because that's EXACTLY what happened to me. She gave Steve malaria and I read the fic even though I never watched the show (malaria is like a bullet-proof kink for me, you may have noticed), and then I had to go see what the fuss was about, and THEN Danny called Steve "babe" IN THE SHOW and I was smitten. :)

Okay. So I have a very weird question. I do like the show and am tempted to start reading H50 fic, but I need to know something before I begin.

When it comes to h/c preferences, which character is the current fandom favorite to be the "hurtee" versus the comforter. I would rather get myself in that mindset going in, rather than get disappointed by a dearth of fics in the future... spoken by a true oh!Sam girl. :)

Huh. You know, I haven't seen that many pure h/c fics out there. Most of it right now seems to be slash.

Otherwise, I've heard that Danny is generally the focus of the h/c, but the fics I've seen tend to have Steve in the hurt/sick role.

So... I dunno? It seems 50/50 at this point, with not all that much h/c yet, which I totally plan on rectifying. My own preference right now seems to be to whump Danno to within an inch of his life, but I'm sure I'll eventually turn my attention to Steve, since I am all about the equal-opportunity whump. ;)

Okay, really I don't :) I've never seen H50, and probably won't for a very very long time. Most of our television watching is via Netflix- we're watching season 2 of 24 right now. Needless to say, except for Supernatural, I'm not a tv kind of gal. Have fun with it!

Most of my viewing is through Zip (the Canadian equivalent of Netflix), so I understand very well. :)

24 is like a train wreck. Season 3 is awesome if you can get past the inanity that is Season 2, and then it's all downhill from there with the torture-porn.

I don't know if we'll move on to season 3. We've had a hard time getting into season 2- I really want to hit Kim with like a brick or something. Unfortunately, now we're down to just 6 episodes left, we don't want to abandon it :) The NEXT show we're watching is Hustle. I loved season 1 of Hustle, and I hear season 2 is better :)

I hated Season 2 for the same reasons, but Season 3 is by far the best of the whole show. Don't bother with anything after that, it's bad and gets worse.

Haven't watched Hustle. In fact, I have no idea what it's about.

Yeah, I know just how you feel :) I loved TS sooo much, I thought I'd never love another fandom like that... Then Phantom Menace came along, and Qui/Obi... I felt so guilty! (But I got over it)

I love H50 but that never even occured to me... I'm amused.

I sometimes get a little confused when I'm watching/reading NCIS LA because one of the main characters is called Sam and he is so not like our Sam that it doesn't even make sense to be confused but still, in my head whenever I hear 'Sam', there is just one person I think of (okay that didn't make any sense at all, did it?)
