I'm considering writing this next, but what the hell: Dean's decision to get a helper dog is cemented after he takes a tumble down a flight of stairs at work and stays stuck there for quite a while with no way to get help because he left his cell phone by the cash register and Sophie has gone home for the day. He's not hurt, but it drives home to him just how vulnerable he is now, and how precarious the balance of his life with Sam is.
