What happened?

My delicious account appears to have vanished. I did switch everything over and accepted the terms of service way back when, but now it's telling me my username & password are invalid, and when I do a search it tells me it doesn't exist.

I am confused and sad for all of harrigan's hard work. Is this just a temporary glitch?

That is very weird :( I just tried to get into delicious through my own account (I did the switch way back when too) and I was able to get in.

I'll go to your masterpost and see if I can access your delicious from my computer

ETA-- I tried your delicious link and you're right--it says that it doesn't exist :(

Wasn't there a post circulating recently about delicious accounts, and how you had to agree to the new terms and conditions, due to the transfer of delicious to its new owner? I think I read you had a time limit to do it, or else it was going to be deleted. :(

Hopefully it's a temporary thing. I can get my own account but not yours. Mine is a mess though (tags are listed in no order and the majority aren't listed at all) so maybe it's a transitional phase. *crosses fingers*

I checked mine. I did the agreement when first and then for saftey a few times latley and those said I already agreed to it.
When I checked mine now I saw they changed the layout and a message said that it would work best with firefox (which I do not have). I also noticed you can't choose how many you want to show at one page. The tags does look like to be only to most used and not every tag that I put up in the taglist.

The new delicious is shit. My account is still there but all my subscriptions are gone, and my network. They only show ten bookmarks per page (and I have 2500 so it's ridiculous!).

I can't even browse my own bookmarks because whenever I write a slash (as in sam/dean or jared/jensen) it gives a 404 error!! (yes, it seems it doesn't accept / anymore) and the few bookmarks that work, like J2, only show 10 results, because there is no NEXT page (even if I have like 500 fics tagged as J2!)

The tag system is a mess also, for example if I type RPS, it mixes RPS with RPS-AU (that I have in separated tags to diference 'canon' from 'au').

My whole list of tags is gone!! I don't even remember what tags I had, and now I can't tag correctly. And the search doesn't work in my own private bookmarks! so I can't even find anything in my bookmarks either by searching or by tag!!

Oh, and we cannot follow the recent public tags anymore. I used it all the time to see what people were saving, but now, even if it's supposedly there it's blank!

I'm really thankful that I switched to Google Bookmarks back when they announced Delicious would be sold off. Regardless of their attempts to sooth us that things would be fine, I just didn't trust the new PTB to make this a seamless transition.

I know it's too late now, but Google Bookmarks is an awesome site!

It could be, the new delicious update screwed us all over. My delicious, it added tags that we're never there, added 'links' that were never there. No more subscriptions or tag bundles just nothing and it sucks so much.

They said they're working things out but there's so many glitches and problems I don't know how they can fix it all. You can send in complaints to them which I did and told them all of what doesn't work and what we want from delicious not their fancy stacks thing this isn't ihop lol

That's my personal one, which I use for my own bookmarks. ratherastory_fic is the one which had ALL my fanfiction sorted by tags and was a herculean effort on the part of harrigan.

Crap. Of COURSE Delicious would conserve the less important account. Feh.

I don't have a delicious, but my flist has been talking about it a lot, so I found this link (http://kronos999.livejournal.com/16156.html) which apparently describes how you can still save everything in HTML (I didn't read it through but thats what flist-linker person said^^)

this really sucks so much! I only started bookmarking stuff (on diigo, because I started when the whole delicious crisis started) and I know how much work that is and also so very helpful.

I hate the new delicious. It has added weird new tags. And it when I try to add something new it won't automatically start to guess what I'm typing and give me options-sometimes I have a lot of tags and I don't remember exactly how I wrote them(did I have a ! or - or _ or / to separate something?), I need to see it! Luckily I backed mine up. So if they don't solve their problems and make a better site I'm moving off. I have some at diigo now, but I haven't used it much so I don't know if I like it yet...

Hello! Someone posted a manual in delicious's facebook to retrieve the links of your old account. I'm not compute savy so I don't really understand it, but they say it works:

"this manual is not mine, but it most definately works. You can export your old bookmarks that way: Avos did the change via server hosting and DNS records, the old Delicious.com system is still in place, unmodified and still working, FOR NOW...!

Steps to do this:
1) verify the old site ip addresses by using NetCraft's site monitorng tool:
e.g.
http://uptime.netcraft.com/up/graph?site=www.delicious.com

2) add the following entries to the HOSTS file in your system:
98.139.50.166 www.delicious.com
76.13.6.190 secure.delicious.com
76.13.6.209 static.delicious.com

(i found the ip addresses using the netcraft method above, feel free to verify the addresses i found.)

3) either reboot the pc or clear the local DNS cache (ipconfig /flushdns) then start a new browser and visit the old delicious site. If the new delicious site loads it means you have done something wrong

if you have to login but have changed your password on the NEW delicious site then on the OLD SITE login using the OLD PASSWORD that you have used (the latest that is known by the old delicious site)

4) backup your bookmarks from there

5) (optional) delete your account from the old system, it has already been migrated and there's no point for old data to remain behind. I just deleted my old account there after saving all my bookmarks from the system.

6) (NOT OPTIONAL) delete those 3 lines from the HOSTS system that you have added at step (2) or you won't be able to access the NEW delicious.com (your pc will keep trying to access the old site, which will be eventually dismantled)"
