Good surfing reference?

Hola, flist!

I am writing about Kono for the first time ever, and I know nothing about surfing. It's actually kind of important for my story.

Anyone got some good resources? I need to know the basics of how it works, and a primer on surfing etiquette would be most welcome.

The book "Caught Inside" by Daniel Duane is a fun read and an excellent surfing primer! It has a few problems... like it's sexist as hell... but definitely a great resource.

1 bit of surfing etiquette I know is, you DON'T horn in on someone else's wave. Kono smacked a guy for doing that in the Pilot.
