In which I flail and panic about BigBang

I've already flailed in a really long-winded fashion at the lovely, patient, understanding folks who are doing BigBang with me, so this is more of a generalized, short-version flail.

1- I changed my mind about what I was going to write a couple of weeks ago. God.

2- I am PANICKING because the deadline is in five weeks and I've only got about 2,700 words written and OH GOD.

3- I think my new story might be too big to write. *headdesk*

Did I mention OHGODOHGODOHGOD. /o\

So since I have a decent amount of time to myself today, I am giving myself a wordcount goal for the end of the day of 5,000 words, so that I can at the very least feel as though I'm not falling into a black pit of writing-induced despair. There's a reason I usually only write things that are under 6,000 words. Gah!

Since wordcount meters have seen me through NaNoWriMo in the past, I figure I'll use one for this too, at least at the beginning. Once I have sufficient momentum going, the story itself should be enough to get me to the end.

2763 / 20000 words. 14% done!

I refuse to despair until April 30th.

Well, at that point, I'd basically been living, sleeping, and breathing the material for three months. And I had a lot of text (and more importantly, footnotes, those would have been a pain to redo) that I could salvage, even if I had to completely tear apart all their paragraphs and sections, sentence by sentence Plus, it was just for an mlitt, it was only ~14,000 words. But still, there was very little sleep that week.

Also- I've seen you go "hey, I just wrote these three 4000 word one shots and also, here's a 30,000 word multichapter fic." I don' think you have anything to worry about.
