Fusion (Master Post)

Title: Fusion (Master Post)
Prompt/Summary: This is a 'verse that started out as a single comment-fic, prompted by [livejournal.com profile] roque_clasique at a Dean-focused h/c comment-fic meme over at [livejournal.com profile] hoodie_time. The original prompt is here, and went thusly: Dean fucks up his knee one too many times and either has to amputate or fuse it, so he chooses to have it fused.
So the prompt kind of grew in my head, and turned into a Sam-comes-back-from-hell story, and then it kind of became a curtain!fic, and then it became a 'verse. Each story can mostly stand alone, although it helps if you read the first one, so you know the basic premise.
Characters: mainly Sam 'n' Dean, a bunch of OCs, and quite possibly some canon characters might pop up later.
Rating: Will vary from fic to fic, please check out individual headers
Disclaimer: I'm holding out hope that I might get them for Christmas this year. Until then, none of 'em are mine.
Warnings: Will vary from fic to fic, please check out individual headers

BONUS FIC!

The lovely an talented [livejournal.com profile] lavinialavender has written a ficlet set in the same 'verse (though I will not be taking it into account when writing my own stuff —much simpler for me that way). Simple Gifts, in which Bobby pays the boys a visit. It's a very sweet look at the boys through Bobby's eyes. :)

ART

The lovely and talented [livejournal.com profile] kamidiox, has drawn a beautiful comic of the end of Home to My Heart, which you can see here.

Yet more artwork by the lovely and talented and [livejournal.com profile] kamidiox has made more art! This time for The Only Easy Day.

And now the spectacularly talented [livejournal.com profile] quickreaver has illustrated Making It Work

MUSIC

How much do I love that Fusion is inspiring people to do so many awesome things? [livejournal.com profile] running_hot wrote a song for the 'verse! Follow this link to get to the post. :)

I love and adore your writing but as a stay-at-home mom of two busy kids- I don't always get to indulge in reading fan fic like I would like too. My hubby got me a Nook over the summer and so I have taken every story on my to read list and put it on my Nook. I made a Pdf of your Fusion verse that I have been dying to read and over the holidays I finally had time to read it!

I absolutely adore it! Pure love is what it is. The last one I read was The Fever Called Living so when I came here to leave you some feedback I was very excited to see there is more for me to read. I'm bouncing in excitement and I see a bonus fic by another favorite writer so Yay!

Now, I'm going to make a suggestion that please feel free to read and discard because I know how fickle writing and ones muse can be. After reading Sam's encounter at the grocery story with little Millie and Tillie's freak out- which totally broke my heart- I've been dying to see Sam have a positive experience with a child. I have a good friend who is autistic and high functioning. He has been my 7 year olds buddy for years and it has been wonderful. My son has speach issues and is very very sensitive and our friend with Autism is probably the only person that totally gets him and his issues. I would love to see Sam bond with a child that maybe doesn't quite fit in. That or I would love to see Sam come home with a cat though I'm not sure Dean or Perry could handle that. LOL

Now, see I never ever get that attached to a story and make suggestions but this story is so addicting and like I said, please feel free to ignore that... as long as you keep writing for this verse I will be a majorly happy camper.

So I'll stop babbling and go and load the unread parts of this verse on my nook! You my dear rock! ;)

I am SO happy that you're enjoying the 'verse! As it happens, both your ideas are something I'd like to touch on at some point in the future, so stay tuned!

[identity profile] gidgetgal9.livejournal.com 2012-01-09 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, was in the process of loading the rest of the verse to my nook when you responded and I might have squeed a bit at your response. LOL

I am very excited at the prospect of those ideas or heck any ideas involving more of this verse. Love it! ;)

I have lurked on your FF site for a long time. And one day I realized you had stopped posting. Thankfully after panicking I read your note and found you here. Soooo glad. I love Fusion. I re- read the whole series of Fusion stories every few weeks. I confess to to secretly loving all the cuddling and the sweetness of the home for Sam and Dean. And honestly, I can so see where the characters could develop into this life even on the show if given the chance. :)
Your writing is wonderful. Thank you for sharing. I hope there will be more... I just thought it was about time I said something. Thank you!!
Cheers always,
Jo

Hi Jo!

I'm very glad you were able to find where I went after leaving ff.net behind, and especially glad to hear you're still enjoying the 'verse! There will absolutely be more. Stay tuned!

(Anonymous) 2012-01-26 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I have to ask... Did I offend you somehow? I honestly only wanted to say how much I love this verse, but it seems like I am the only one here you haven't responded to. I'm sorry if I said something out of line. Not a native English speaker, so maybe it came out insensitive or just silly.
:(
I meant well.

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2012-01-26 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Hah, holy Jesus, no. I am about 500 comments behind on answering everyone. I'm playing catch-up, but I probably just missed your comment, sweets. I love all my feedback, I promise! Just go look at my last entry in this LJ, it's me grovelling and whining about how I am so far behind on answering the comments to my stories. :D

(Anonymous) 2012-01-27 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, okay. Relieved. :) Thank you! And thank you for all the new Fusion chapters, I am so happy each and every time. Love it.

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2012-01-26 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Hi there!

(This is my attempt to catch up on some of my comments, sorry I am so late, I suck.)

I'm so glad you're enjoying the 'verse! As you can see, I've been busily adding to it over the months. :)

[identity profile] marziebarz.livejournal.com 2012-01-31 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
*snuggles this masterpost* THIS IS POSSIBLY MY FAVORITE 'VERSE EVER. And I will read it all today. homework what homework

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2012-03-21 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee! I hope you got all your homework done after all...

[identity profile] amethyst-rei.livejournal.com 2012-02-01 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Hi!

First, let me start off by saying that this 'verse is all kinds of amazing. I'm not yet finished with it, but what I've thoroughly enjoyed what I've read so far and really look forward to reading more. It's crazy how utterly engaged I am with Fusion, and how excited I get every time I'm free to read more.

So thank you for writing this and sharing. It's been beyond excellent.

(btw? I absolute adore the chapters written from the perspective of OCs, and let me tell you now that that is RARE. Sam and Dean's POVs are still my favorite, though. You just write them so well.)

_

Second, I just wanted to let you know that I made an e-book of this (parts 1-26) to read on my digital book and that, if you'd like, I wouldn't mind uploading it and sending you the link. It's not, like, beautiful or anything, but it's decent looking and gets the job done.

Anyway-- once again, thanks so much for writing this!

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2012-03-21 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you so much! I can't tell you how nice it is to get feedback like this. <3

One of these days, when the 'verse is finished (not anytime soon), I'll have to put it all together in a nice pdf or an e-book or something. Thank you for the offer! I'm sure there are people who would love to have your copy—I've had a few requests already.

[identity profile] dean-is-batman.livejournal.com 2012-03-12 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
This verse is the best thing I've ever come across and I hope that there are many more stories to come in the future. I love it and I love your writing. <3.

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2012-03-21 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
*bounce*

Thank you so much! There are definitely going to be more stories, no worries on that front. :)

[identity profile] caitacious94.livejournal.com 2012-03-19 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)
WoW!! This is an amazing series! I have been reading it on Fanfiction.net, but there are not as many stories on there... So I am very glad that I found your livejournal!!!
I love how you have expressed Dean and Sam - post apocalypse. I also just love everything about it ! ^-^

Thank you!!

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2012-03-21 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! I eventually stopped posting at ff.net because I hate fighting with the site every time I want to post a story. It was way too frustrating.

I'm so pleased you're enjoying the 'verse!

[identity profile] aubreykey.livejournal.com 2012-04-10 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
Quiet lurker for awhile now! I seriously love all your stories so much! I've re-read this verse so many times now and everytime I love it just a little more. I can't help but hope that you'll keep on adding onto this verse. Your interactions between Sam, Dean and Castiel are just amazing. How Dean and Sam have settled and made this life for themselves is just exactly what I could see the boys doing!

Hi there! I am so pleased you're enjoying the 'verse! Always glad to hear from lurkers, it makes my day.

owie my knee

(Anonymous) 2012-05-14 03:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I came across this verse recently and loved it all!

My leg has bending issues and i need to strap it up every day, so reading someone's much-worse non-bending issues is really, really fun.

Thanks for writing it!

Sylvia

Ow, I am very sorry to hear that! Though I am glad Dean's misery helps to lessen your own. ;)

Amazing!!

[identity profile] joyofreading.livejournal.com 2012-07-07 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
I have read this verse over the past few days and I wanted to say how much I enjoyed it. I didn't know if I would enjoy the one with Lisa and you wrote her perfectly that I was sad to see her go.

I love that Cas is there too. I hope he stays apart of this verse for updates to come. In fact I hope you plan on updating more. Your writing of both Sam and Dean are so brilliant. My heart has broken for both boys at one point or another.

Re: Amazing!!

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2012-07-07 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you so much! I am having a lot of fun with this 'verse, and so there will be more updates, and Cas will definitely be a part of some of them, at least. :)

Why did I put off reading this verse for so long?! Its on every rec list, every delicious list and I just spent the past two days reading every single word. I can only plead insanity and that I've never been a big hurtSam fan. Now I'm headed to find more hurtSam! Its like a whole new world of fic has just opened up for me. I hope you aren't finished with this verse. I can't wait to read more! And just to put a tiny bug in your ear, will there be a follow up with the mother of the little girl Sam saved? She was so hateful she really should be made aware that Sam saved her life as well as her daughter's.

Re: fusion

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2012-07-13 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Wheee! I am always happy to convert someone else to the wonderful world of hurt!Sam. :D

I'm super pleased you enjoyed the 'verse! Thank you!

[identity profile] xanth-love.livejournal.com 2012-11-02 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
If I had known you were on LiveJournal, I would have come over ages ago. I've been following your fusion verse on FF.net ever since I first found it, but it's nice to be able to read all of them in proper order. And there's a good handful I haven't read before, too! Very nice surprise.

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2012-11-09 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you so much! I had to abandon ship with FF.net because the format was driving me crazy, especially since the submission forms for fic.

I'm really glad that you've enjoyed the stories and that you've been able to find all the ones I didn't post at FF.net. :)
