*blows dust off LJ*

I maybe wrote a small thing. [livejournal.com profile] rainylemons told me about Killjoys, and so I'm sweeping the cobwebs off my keyboard and seeing if I can manage to write something that isn't pure crap.

Title: Killjoys in 100 words
Summary: One drabble for each episode in Season 1. I'm going to keep going with Season 2, just haven't started yet. I'm trying to see if I can capture the characters' voices before I venture into anything bigger.
Characters: Almost everyone? Dutch, Johnny, D'Avin, Lucy, Pree, Fancy Lee, Alvis, Turin, Hills
Wordcount: 1,000 (10 drabbles, 100 words each on the nose)
Rating: PG (minor swearing)
Spoilers: Through the end of the Season 1 finale
Warnings: Show warnings apply, nothing major I can think of
Neurotic Author's Note: I don't have one this time? Maybe this:

Title: If There Is A Flame, Don't Snuff It Out (Garden 'verse, Part 6)

Summary: Dean approaches Lisa with a problem.

Characters: Lisa Braeden, Dean Winchester

Rating: PG

Wordcount: 2,247

Warnings: None

Spoilers: None

Neurotic Author's Note #1: So, uh, hi folks! I'm still here. I told you I had plans for this 'verse, didn't I? So, here I am, continuing those plans. I have other stories to tell, and they'll likely end up out of order, just like in Fusion. This is the story that wanted to be told today. It's set a few years after The Kids Are Still Alright.

Neurotic Author's Note #2: It's my birthday! The universe rewarded me with crippling vertigo, but since I was almost done with this story, I figured a birthday fic would be a nice way to mark the day. Once this is posted, I'm going to turn over in bed (yay laptops!) and have a nap. :P

Neurotic Author's Note #3: You'll have to forgive how rough this is. It honestly feels like I've forgotten how to write in the past year and a half. I'm hoping that if I practice more, I'll get my mojo back properly. This isn't beta'd, either, because I don't want to chicken out before posting it. ;)

Title: Parting Shot
Summary: Two years after the events of New York, Clint Barton is deep undercover in Bulgaria. When the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier reveal his identity to the organised crime syndicate he's infiltrated, he finds himself stranded in Varna with no allies and no resources. Moreover, the local mafia are about to enact a plan that could put the entire region at risk. With Hydra hot on his heels, Clint must rely on his wits and a few local friends to put an end to the plot and get out alive.
Written for the [livejournal.com profile] marvel_bang. I was lucky enough to be picked by the lovely and talented [livejournal.com profile] branquignole, who made a fantastic playlist that can be found here.
Characters: Clint Barton, OCs, brief appearances by Natasha Romanov and Phil Coulson
Wordcount: 20, 682
Rating: R
Spoilers: Everything up to and including CA:TWS
Warnings: Lots and lots of violence, blood, fire, gore. Nothing worse than you'd find in a typical MCU film.
Neurotic Author's Note #1: My undying thanks and gratitude and a giant bouquet of flowers to [livejournal.com profile] branquignole, who was extraordinarily patient with my while my life blew up in my face this year. I moved, got eye surgery, had a million veterinary emergencies, and generally was a giant pain in the ass for my long-suffering artist. She is fantastic, y'all, and I hope you will go listen to the brilliant playist she made for this story! Here is the link again: Just Like Captain America (Not Quite)
Neurotic Author's Note #2: I also owe a ton of chocolate to [livejournal.com profile] sirona_gs, who was my go-to reference for all things Bulgarian in this story. Any resemblance to Varna and how things work over in Bulgaria is thanks to her, as is the use of actual Bulgarian in this story. I also googled and took liberties, so any and all mistakes are mine alone. She was a hero and a godsend, and walked me through geography, grammar, sociological factors, and everything in between, and without her this story wouldn't be half as good as it is.
Neurotic Author's Note #3: And a huge heartfelt thank you, last but not least, to my two intrepid betas, who rescued me from bad characterisation, weird punctuation, and some serious abuse of the English language in this. [livejournal.com profile] rainylemons and [livejournal.com profile] geckoholic, you are rock stars and deserve to have your praises sung forever and a day!

Title: And If I Show You My Dark Side (Will You Still Hold Me Tonight)
Summary: Dean will never let Sam go, and Sam knows it. This changes nothing, but it changes everything.
Characters: Sam/Dean
Rating: NC17
Wordcount: 2,982
Warnings: Consensual sibling incest. Spoilers up to the last aired episode of S9. Also, major trigger warnings: Major character death. Explicit depiction of suicide. Not the same character, either. Basically everybody dies. Sorry.
Neurotic Author’s Note #1: Well, on the plus side, I wrote something? I haven’t had much time or energy or inclination to write these days. Financial worries tend to kill the muse for me, and on top of that everything’s been busy and exhausting. Sorry.
Neurotic Author’s Note #2: On the not-so-plus side, I am really sorry for this story. No, really, I am sorry. Current canon is making me sad, and when I am sad I sometimes write really fucking depressing fic. Sorry. Also, this is not beta'd at all.
Neurotic Author’s Note #3: The title is taken from Pink Floyd’s The Final Cut from their album The Wall.

Title: You Can't Break Away--And You Never Want To
Summary: Firefly crossover/fusion-type thing. Dean accompanies his brother to visit Sam's old friend Inara, with whom he underwent his Companion training.
Characters: Dean, Sam, Inara, Mal, Kaylee.
Rating: PG-13
wordcount: 1,332
Warnings: Unrequited (so far) Dean/Sam. Implied Dean/Kaylee, if you tilt your head the right way.
Neurotic Author's Note #1: So [livejournal.com profile] kinkthattwinked gave me a prompt that sort of got away with me at my last post on the topic. Oops? I actually had this plot bunny living at the back of my head, and someday it will become a real story. For the moment, this is just me playing with the characters and seeing if I can do it. I've never written Firefly, after all.
Neurotic Author's Note #2: This is unbeta'd, just written in a hurry and tossed out there in order to see what happens.
Neurotic Author's Note #3: The title is actually a quote from the episode "Heart of Gold," from Firefly.

I still don't think this is a good idea, Sammy. )

Title: I See My Light Come Shining (From the West to the East)
Summary: With the Trials at an end, Dean thought that Sam would be fine and that they'd be able to turn the page on it all. As it turns out, he was wrong... Written for [livejournal.com profile] cleflink for [livejournal.com profile] spn_summergen.
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Show-levels of gore. Spoilers to the end of Season 8.
Neurotic Author's Note # 1: Oh my goodness, dear [personal profile] cleflink, I tried so hard not to have unrelenting angst in this, and, um… I'm not sure I entirely succeeded. I blame Season 8, and the show in general, because unrelenting angst seems to be a Thing™ lately. I hope you like it anyway! It was a really gratifying story to write, even if it was hard.
Neurotic Author's Note # 2: I would also like to thank the lovely betas who stepped up to rescue me from myself at the last minute: [livejournal.com profile] embroiderama, [livejournal.com profile] harrigan and [livejournal.com profile] moviegeek03. You are all marvelous and if I were there in person I would shower you with kisses! <3
Neurotic Author's Note # 3: The title is taken from Bob Dylan's song I Shall Be Released. It felt appropriate. :)
Neurotic Author's Note # 4: Yes, I know, I'm posting this really late after reveals. I am so swamped with RL that I've been neglecting all things fandom. Sorry!

Title: Keep Me In Your Confidence
Summary: Missing scene from 1.10. Aidan wishes he'd asked Daniella to stay instead of letting her get a cab home, but maybe not for the reasons anyone thinks.
Characters: Aidan Black, Daniella Ridley
Rating: PG
Wordcount: 1,060
Warnings: Minor spoilers for Episode 1.10, Inquest.
Neurotic Author's Note #1: This is my first crack at Cracked fanfic (hah, see what I did there?), and as far as I know this is probably the second piece of fanfic that's ever been written for the show. I'm basically just trying to get a sense of the characters, to see what they're like.
Neurotic Author's Note #2: I'm not sure I did the characters justice, and especially not the quiet, intimate atmosphere of that little scene. It warmed my heart, though, and gives me hope for them in the future, so I wanted to write a little something for it, to give myself some closure.
Neurotic Author's Note #3: I'll be very impressed if anyone reads this. If you do and you haven't seen the show yet, let me know if you'd like me to hook you up with some of the episodes. :)

Title: Shiny, Happy
Summary: Sam is still covered in glitter after getting beaten up by clowns, and Dean really loves his new slinky. Written for [livejournal.com profile] framedhim's prompt of slinky and perfectly paired at [livejournal.com profile] salt_burn_porn.
Characters: Sam/Dean
Rating: NC-17
Wordcount: 1,902
Warnings: None, unless the Sam/Dean pairing didn't give away the fact that this does, in fact, consist of consensual sibling incest.
Neurotic Author's Note # 1: Man, I almost didn't make it. I haven't properly written fic in forever, and this weekend was a doozy. But here, have porn! And glitter. And no beta at all.
Neurotic Author's Note # 2: Life is crazy these days, which is why no fic. I'm hoping that April will prove less crazy. Stay tuned!

Title: Find Your Light
Summary: Written for the [livejournal.com profile] spn_reversebang. Jared is the long-suffering but well-loved stage manager of the Wilmington Shakespeare festival. He's in charge of running everything behind the scenes for this year's flagship production of Macbeth, his job made only harder by the anxiety-ridden director and the eccentric cast, including theatre superstar Jeffrey Dean Morgan and newly arrived action movie sensation, Jensen Ackles, who is proving to be much more difficult to work with than anyone expected. Jared manages to juggle his responsibilities well enough… right up until the infamous curse of "The Scottish Play" takes effect, and then it's down to him and Jensen to ensure that the play must go on.
Artist: [livejournal.com profile] cybel
Characters: Jared/Jensen, and a motley crew of CW cast and OCs, because I couldn't decide on one or the other.
Rating: NC-17
Wordcount: 12,000
Warnings: Off-screen secondary character death.
Neurotic Author's Note #1: I would like to thank the Academy… no, wait. ;) Okay, seriously, a big thank you to [livejournal.com profile] cybel, whose beautiful artwork leaped off the page at me right away and had me absolutely scrambling to make sure I got it. I only hope I have done it justice in the slightest. Also to my rockstar beta [livejournal.com profile] rainylemons, who agreed to beta this on a DIME, I am not even kidding you. All remaining mistakes, naturally, are mine.
Neurotic Author's Note #2: A big thank you also to the Reverse Big Bang Mods. It takes a truly heroic kind of insanity to run a project as big as this one, to herd all the cats and hope they end up in the right place.
Neurotic Author's Note #3: This kept trying to become a Slings & Arrows AU, and although I battled the impulse heroically, I'm not sure I succeeded entirely. I have next to no knowledge of the theatre world, so if any of this stuff seems like it's entirely made up, that's because it is. Also, Jared and Jensen stubbornly refused to have sex at all for the longest time. I had to bribe them with Shakespeare. IDEK. So, yeah, this is basically the floofiest thing ever, and I hope you can forgive me and just try to enjoy the fluff for what it is. :)
Neurotic Author's Note #4: All the quotes in the text are from Shakespeare's Macbeth, for the record.

Title: Like a Skunk at a Garden Party
Summary: Fusion 'verse. Dean takes Sam and Perry for a walk, with unexpected consequences.
Characters: Dean, Sam, Perry, Castiel
Rating: PG
Wordcount: 4,726
Warnings: None! How awesome is that?
Disclaimer: The usual 'not mine, no profit,' etc.
Neurotic Author's Note #1: This was written as a present for the lovely and talented [livejournal.com profile] de_nugis, as a general thank you for being an awesome person. Darling [livejournal.com profile] de_nugis, you are spectacular in all ways, and I hope that 2013 treats you ever so much better than this year!
Neurotic Author's Note #2: I owe many thanks also to [livejournal.com profile] yasminke who helped me brainstorm this little story on Twitter, because my writing brain has been broken for so long that it has trouble coming up with things all on its own.
Neurotic Author's Note #3: After the last instalment of Fusion, I decided it was time I give the boys a good day again. The point of the 'verse, unlike Show, is not unrelenting misery. ;)
Neurotic Author's Note #4: Many thanks go out to [livejournal.com profile] glovered et al, who organized this event. You guys are the best!

Title: Sometimes, All I Need
Summary: Fusion 'verse. After wandering out into the cold during Dean's office Christmas party, Sam gets sick.
Characters: Castiel, Sam, Dean
Rating: PG
Wordcount: 4,349
Warnings: Swearing, the usual
Disclaimer: Do I still need one of these? I think by now we all know I own diddly squat.
Neurotic Author's Note #1: A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, the lovely and talented [livejournal.com profile] shangrilada wrote me a story, and I recklessly promised her a Fusion story in return, focusing on the days between Bless Us, Every One and Among Your Friends and Kindred when Sam had pneumonia. Naturally, because this is a Fusion story, it became a story sort of about Cas in which Sam happens to be sick. And, of course, in the end, it still turned out to be a story about Sam and Dean. I don't even know.
Neurotic Author's Note #2: God, how long has it been since I wrote any Fusion? It feels like years. I have so many ideas, but it feels like my writing brain has shriveled up and died. So, yeah. I'm kind of sorry for how it doesn't flow as well as a lot of my earlier writing. I'm working on that.
Neurotic Author's Note #3: Title is taken from "The Air That I Breathe," which was originally by the Hollies, I believe, but the version I know best is the one by K. D. Lang. Because, yeah, doesn't that one lyric totally describe the boys? I think it does. <3

Title: All I Needed To Hear (Was the Sound of Your Voice)
Summary: Written for [livejournal.com profile] run_the_con based on a prompt by the lovely and talented [livejournal.com profile] embroiderama. Neal is injured and trapped. Until rescue can find him, all he has to hang onto is the sound of Peter's voice.
Characters: Neal Caffrey, Peter Burke
Rating: PG13
Wordcount: 1,732
Warnings: Implied violence
Spoilers: None
Disclaimer: If I had any claim at all on "White Collar," I probably wouldn't be writing fanfic for free. Or maybe I would, who knows?
Neurotic Author's Note #1: Ack. This is only my second time writing WC fic, and I'm not sure I got the characters down at all. Neal Caffrey is a tough customer to figure out! /o\
Neurotic Author's Note #2: Because I am apparently not enough of a masochist, this was written for a 24-hour schmoop challenge. It's unbeta'd, and I'm not sure it's even all that schmoopy. Oops?
Neurotic Author's Note #3: Title is taken from the 38 Special song, "The Sound of Your Voice."

Title: For the Holidays
Summary: Written for the ongoing [livejournal.com profile] ohsam comment-fic meme, for [livejournal.com profile] tarotgal's prompt, which was: Sam's first winter break at Stanford is filled with all the emotions. He's relieved to have done well at his first semester of classes. He's missing his brother and, well, maybe his dad a little, though he wouldn't admit it. And spending weeks pulling all-nighters for exam studying and completing projects has caused him to crash and finally come down with a nasty cold. Miserable, lonely, & sick, Sam wonders about where he's going to go when he gets kicked out of the dorms during the mandatory holiday break.
Characters: Sam, Jess (pre-relationship)
Wordcount: 6,773
Rating: G
Warnings: None.
Spoilers: Blink-and-you'll-miss-it S5 spoiler
Neurotic Author's Note #1: Wow, it has been a long time since I wrote some decent Sam-whump, hasn't it? I feel rusty. I feel like this story probably shows how rusty I am. But at least I'm writing, right? Right.
Neurotic Author's Note #2: So, um, [livejournal.com profile] tarotgal, I hope this is okay. There's a lot less actual head cold and it's closer to Sam/Jess than gen or slash, and… yeah, it's kind of your prompt and kind of not. Whoops. /o\
Neurotic Author's Note #3: Comment-fic, so it's unbeta'd. Read at your own peril.

Title: Do You Still Feel Me? (The Altered Senses Remix)
Summary: After a lifetime of sharing absolutely everything with his brother, right down to his last thought, Dean's world goes silent. Written for [livejournal.com profile] kamikazeremix, based on [livejournal.com profile] jacyevans' the senses might alter the way that you feel. Originally posted here.
Characters: Sam/Dean
Rating: R
Warnings: consensual sibling incest, mentions of (non-explicit) underage consensual sex (Sam is 16), show-levels of violence, canonical character death.
Spoilers: to the end of S2
Neurotic Author's Note: A big thank you to the mods for heroically throwing themselves on the grenade for the good of all fandom and running this challenge! [livejournal.com profile] jacyevans, I adored your story and the premise, and I tried very, very hard to do it justice. I'm not sure if I succeeded, but it was a pleasure and a privilege to be given your fic to work with. I did take your author's notes at their word, and made the Sam/Dean more explicit than in your story, so I hope that's okay. I also incorporated a few direct quotes, which you will likely recognize.

Title: Life in the Valley
Summary: Written for [livejournal.com profile] brilligspoons for the [livejournal.com profile] h50_exchange. The team has some much-needed downtime at one of Chin and Kono's cousins' taro farm.
Pairings/Characters: Chin/Kono/Danny/Steve (The story assumes an OT4 kind of poly relationship, but never goes further than very chaste kissing)
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: ~4,500
Warnings: > Secondary character death, only mentioned in passing.
Disclaimer: Last I checked, CBS is still the only one with any right to make money off these guys.
Neurotic Author's Note #1: I would like to thank the mods first and foremost for being very very patient with me during this challenge, and for running it in the first place, which is a herculean task!
Neurotic Author's Note #2: I also owe a huge debt of gratitude to [livejournal.com profile] zolac_no_miko, without whom this fic would not have happened and who provided me with all of the Hawaiian culture portrayed herein. Any factual errors are due to my incomprehension and nothing else.
Neurotic Author's Note #3: And, last but not least, many many thanks to my indefatigable beta, [livejournal.com profile] rainylemons, who listened while I whined at her and held my hand and basically made sure the story didn't suck. [livejournal.com profile] brilligspoons, I really hope this is close to what you were looking for.

Title: Can You Hear Me (When I'm Calling Out to You)
Summary: In the days following the big battle with the Chiatauri Steve pays a visit to the Avengers tower which is still under construction. He intends to apologize to Tony for their earlier argument on the helicarrier. Instead, he discovers that Tony didn't come out of the battle as unscathed as he had at first let on…
Characters: Steve Rogers, Tony Stark
Rating: PG
Wordcount: 2,958
Warnings: None.
Disclaimer: *hides under a rock in case Marvel tries to find her*
Neurotic Author's Note #1: So a couple of months ago the spectacular [livejournal.com profile] dante_s_hell won a fic from me in a charity auction. She requested some Tony-centric h/c with Steve in the caregiver role, preferably in the aftermath of the climactic battle in the movie. So that's pretty much what this is. Thank you, my lovely, for waiting so patiently for me! I hope you like it. :)
Neurotic Author's Note #2: I owe a huge debt of gratitude to [livejournal.com profile] peppervl, who must have worn down her fingertips to the very bone at her keyboard, holding my hand and commiserating and making me write and helping me with the premise of the story and working out kinks and figuring out the end (endings are HARD, yo!) and basically being a rock star. Without her, there would be no story. Thank you!
Neurotic Author's Note #3: This isn't nearly as intense h/c as my usual stuff. It's actually kind of fluffy. Mostly it allowed me to meander around in Steve's thoughts and poke at his brain for a while, and let him see Tony in a new light. I expect that if you tilt your head and squint, you can probably see this as pre-slash, but it's pretty much gen.
Neurotic Author's Note #4: The title is shamelessly cribbed from Great Big Sea lyrics.

Title: The Kids Are Still Alright
Summary: Garden 'verse. Written for the [livejournal.com profile] hoodie_time curtain-fic mini challenge. Ben helps Dean out with a problem at school.
Characters: Dean, Ben Braeden
Rating: PG
Wordcount: 2,015
Disclaimer: Still not mine.
Warnings: None.
Neurotic Author's Note #1: It will surprise no one to learn that I have long-term plans for this 'verse. I have a timeline sort of mapped out in my head, for about 20 years' worth of the 'verse. Some of it is about Sam, but not this story.
Neurotic Author's Note #2: In case it's not clear, there's a similar age gap between Ben and Dean as there was between Dean and Sam before. So in this story Ben is nearly 17 and Dean has just turned 13.
Neurotic Author's Note #3: I've never written from Ben's POV before. It was kind of fun.
