For the Holidays
Nov. 7th, 2012 11:44 pmTitle: For the Holidays
Summary: Written for the ongoing
ohsam comment-fic meme, for
tarotgal's prompt, which was: Sam's first winter break at Stanford is filled with all the emotions. He's relieved to have done well at his first semester of classes. He's missing his brother and, well, maybe his dad a little, though he wouldn't admit it. And spending weeks pulling all-nighters for exam studying and completing projects has caused him to crash and finally come down with a nasty cold. Miserable, lonely, & sick, Sam wonders about where he's going to go when he gets kicked out of the dorms during the mandatory holiday break.
Characters: Sam, Jess (pre-relationship)
Wordcount: 6,773
Rating: G
Warnings: None.
Spoilers: Blink-and-you'll-miss-it S5 spoiler
Neurotic Author's Note #1: Wow, it has been a long time since I wrote some decent Sam-whump, hasn't it? I feel rusty. I feel like this story probably shows how rusty I am. But at least I'm writing, right? Right.
Neurotic Author's Note #2: So, um,
tarotgal, I hope this is okay. There's a lot less actual head cold and it's closer to Sam/Jess than gen or slash, and… yeah, it's kind of your prompt and kind of not. Whoops. /o\
Neurotic Author's Note #3: Comment-fic, so it's unbeta'd. Read at your own peril.

i am never without it
Feb. 17th, 2012 01:06 amTitle: i am never without it
Summary: Dean figures out that Sam was taking him literally. He tries to fix it, in his own way.
Characters: Dean/Sam
Rating: NC-17
Wordcount: 7,832
Disclaimer: All property of the CW. Anything you don't recognize might belong to me. ;)
Warnings: consensual adult sibling incest, spoilers up to ep. 7.14.
Neurotic Author's Note #1: This was written for this prompt by
zuben_eschamali at the bottom!Jared Fanworks Fest. I don't know, the prompt kept staring at me, okay?
Neurotic Author's Note #2: Holy crap, but this took forever to write! It was meant to be a throwaway coda to 7.14, but it kind of took on a life of its own. For one thing, the boys kept not having sex. /o\ Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but the meme kind of had the whole sex thing at its core, so I felt I should at least have some porn in there...
Neurotic Author's Note #3: The title is shamelessly cribbed from e. e. cummings' poem 'i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart).'
Neurotic Author's Note #4: The kelpie is totally an hommage to
de_nugis's awesome fic, for those of you who have read it.

Summary: From a prompt by
khakigrrl at the latest
ohsam comment-fic meme which read: Teenchesters, Gen, post-7.04. What with Dean going with Dad on more hunts and Sam having to keep their absence and their work a secret, Sam's getting more lonely and disconnected.
Characters: Sam, brief appearances by Dean and John, OCs
Rating: PG-13
Wordcount: 5,775
Disclaimer: It still all belongs to the CW
Warnings: No major warnings
Neurotic Author's Note #1: I love this prompt, and I am vaguely worried I didn't do it justice. I kind of wanted to write a quiet little fic in which nothing happens and everything happens, but I'm not sure I succeeded.
Neurotic Author's Note #2: I am a little obsessed with how teen!Sam developed all those weird OCD coping mechanisms we see later on in the show. Oops?
Neurotic Author's Note #3: Unbeta'd, read at your own risk.

SPREAD THE LOVE!
Okay, folks, who else felt like all the delicious promised h/c got UNFAIRLY RIPPED AWAY last night? Yeah. What is this "three weeks later" nonsense?
Where was the head trauma? The hobbling around on crutches? The possible coma? Bobby having to take care of unconscious!Sam and loopy-on-painkillers!Dean?
And THEN there was all the during-and-post episode stuff that could have happened! Like Dean having a "mishap" cutting off his own cast. Sam dealing with Lucifer. ALL THE H/C!
In short, there needs to be comment-fic to fill in these terrible, terrible lapses in judgement on the writers' part, am I right? Of course I am!
THE RULES: (Just in case they need reiterating)
→ Leave a comment here with your prompt. This is a 7.03-focused meme, so the focus should be either on that episode, or the fallout from the episode. Feel free to spin off and go entirely AU based off the episode.
→ In your prompt, please state your desired characters or pairings. All genres/pairings welcome, but no RPF/RPS this time around (we're fixing the episode, damn it!).
Example A: “Dean's extra-awesome painkillers upset his stomach.”
Example B: “Sam's head injury causes him to lapse into a coma in which he relives all his worst memories of Hell.”
→ Post as many prompts as you like - but one prompt per comment. If you've got a couple, comment with each separately.
→ Prompts can be as short or detailed as you like. Remember though - more detail means less wriggle room for the writer, which might lower the chances of someone picking up your prompt.
→ Go through the prompts! If you find one you like, write a fic for it. There's no limit to how many users can reply to a prompt, or how many prompts someone can write for.
→ When replying to a prompt with your comment-fic, put ‘filled’ in your subject line and then anything else you want, like a title if you have one/part numbers. It’s not a big deal if you forget this step, but it will make it easier for people to find your fic.
→ ART PROMPTS AND FILLS ARE ALLOWED AND ENCOURAGED!
→ Anon posting enabled.
→ NO SPOILERS FOR UNAIRED EPISODES.
→ Play nice - no flaming and no character bashing, period. Any comments that break this rule will be deleted without warning.
→ Feedback is catnip for writers. Leave some author-love!
→ No spam comments.
→ Contact one of the mods if you have a question.
→ Spread the love - pimp this meme! (BTW, is anyone who is artistically-inclined willing to make a pimping banner for this? I would love you forever!)
→ Have fun!

A Pre-Existing Condition
Sep. 20th, 2011 08:31 pmTitle: A Pre-Existing Condition
Summary: From a prompt by
desertport at the
hawaii_50_hc h/c comment-fic meme. Steve and Danny are imprisoned for some reason or other and held in two rooms separated by an opaque wall that lets a little sound through. One or the other is injured, and/or maybe being interrogated by the bad guys, and all the other one can do is listen and try to keep his friend's spirits up with his voice.
Characters: Steve, Danny, Ocs, quick appearance by Chin and Kono
Rating: PG-13
Wordcount: 7,423
Disclaimer: Lies, pretty little lies, all of it.
Warnings: more Danny-with-seizures, swearing, show-levels of violence
Neurotic Author's Note #1: So I guess I have ANOTHER 'verse. This is a sequel of sorts to The Art of Bad Timing. You don't have to read the story to understand this one, just know that Danny has a pre-existing condition that predisposes him to seizures.
Neurotic Author's Note #2: Um, this is only sort of what desertport asked for. Sorry, babe! I hope you like it anyway.
Neurotic Author's Note #3: Unbeta'd comment-fic. I'm posting it now because I've been staring at it for way too long.

Be Still, My Heart
Sep. 16th, 2011 12:46 pmTitle: Be Still, My Heart
Summary: Written for the H50 h/c comment-fic meme that's going on right now at
hawaii_50_hc, for a prompt by the lovely and talented
sinnerforhire. Steve/Danny: Steve and Danny have to chase down a suspect. Afterwards, Steve brushes off Danny's comments about having chest pain and shortness of breath as his typical exaggerations--until Danny collapses.
Characters: Steve, Danny, with a side order of Chin and Kono
Rating: PG-13
Wordcount: ~2,500
Disclaimer: Playing with CBS's toys while they're not looking.
Warnings: Nothing major. Minor spoilers for 1.23.
Neurotic Author's Note #1: Comment-fic, written in a hurry and unbeta'd. Also, I pulled most of the medical information here out of my... um... hat. Just FYI. Anything totally inaccurate is entirely my fault and, yeah, just try to suspend your disbelief a little, okay? :)
Neurotic Author's Note #2: I should really try to write something that doesn't involve whumping Danny, at some point, shouldn't I? I seem to do that a lot...

Like Pigeons and Catholics
May. 28th, 2011 02:54 pmTitle: Like Pigeons and Catholics
Summary: Steve decides to drop in on Danny one Saturday morning only to find his partner more than a little under the weather. Written for the Running Hot comment-fic meme being hosted at the LJ of
ariadnes_string. Original prompt was by
embroiderama and can be found here. I'm also going to use it for my flu/cold fill for
10_hurt_comfort.
Characters: Steve, Danny
Rating: PG-13 for mild swearing
Wordcount: 2,794
Disclaimer: Everything recognisable belongs to CBS. Please keep your lawyers leashed at all times.
Warnings: None, pre-slash if you tilt your head and squint a little.
Neurotic Author’s Note #1: Comment-fic, no beta, very little plot. Just shameless h/c.
Neurotic Author’s Note #2: Comment-fic is an awesome way to procrastinate on everything else I’m supposed to be doing, apparently. I am consoling myself that since I’m at work and can’t concentrate on my “real” projects the way I need to, that that makes it okay. *cough*
