Latest PSA wherein LJ messes with something else:

Livejournal Scrapbook is going away. Your 10GB of Paid Member space is now 2GB. If you care, there is an explanation in Russian on the Russian news page. There's also a user-submitted translation.

+ You will no longer have access to your Scrapbook once this goes live.
+ Your images will redirect, but the URL will be different.
+ Unable to tell what will happen to any photos you have that put you over the 2GB limit.
+ Back up your Scrapbook just in case.
+ If you want your photos transferred over now instead of waiting, let them know here.

My friend just posted about this and she has over 6000 pics in her scrapbook and she is using less than 1GB.
I don't know that I have anything in my scrapbook but if I do I have so little that I am covered *G*

I'm so behind technologically that I still have a free membership here on LJ and don't even know about the scrapbook feature. :-)

However, I'm not a fan of Dreamwidth. If what I understand is correct, the only way I can join is if I were invited or something. I can log in with an OpenID, but I'm not a fan of putting all of my eggs in one basket (call me paranoid, but doesn't the thought of one ID bring to mind the beginnings of a world like George Orwell's "1984"? This feels like the first step in Big Brother knowing everything I'm doing. And okay, maybe he already does. But allow me the illusion that keeping my twitter, LJ, Facebook, MySpace, Hotmail, and Google accounts separate allows me at least a modicum of privacy.). I do root around AO3 and fanfiction.net, but they are strictly story sites and don't allow for journal entries.
