ratherastory: (Single Tear)

I am a bad, bad person

I'm watching Dark Angel (through Zip.ca, which is our equivalent of Netflix), and Jensen Ackles is in this episode as a serial killer, and all I can do is think "Hot DAMN, he is pretty!"

No seriously, there is a place for me in the special hell. For one, he's ten years younger in this than he is now, and I am fascinated by his eyes, and God help me, his mouth. I'm just staring, and it's kind of embarrassing.

Also? The main character just smacked him in the face and now he's got blood all over his teeth and GUH.

*headdesk*

He still hurts really purty, and he obviously had that single tear thing going even back then.

OOF.

Like I've always said: if he weren't married and I were straight (and, y'know, he even knew I existed, which he doesn't and which is as it should be)...

(AUUGH! His knee just went totally the wrong way. OH GOD THE SQUICK! Oh, and he's crying and I don't care if he's a serial killer I want to pet the bunny and make him tea.)

Hee! I know what you mean. I didn't watch DA until after I'd seen a couple seasons of SPN and got curious about what both Js had done before that. If you like Ben, I would really, really like to hear your reaction to JA's later role on DarkAngel, since Alec is a character type I have a real weakness for.

And yes, he's really very pretty, isn't he? What you said about "if only [you] were" and "If only he weren't" remind me of reactions to Ben Browder and Claudia Black on Farscape: gay and straight women declared them both possibly exceptions to one's usual orientation...

Unf. Claudia Black.

...

I'm sorry, were you saying something? ;)

Uh, yeah. Ben Browder is pretty, but doesn't *quite* have the brain-melting effect on me that Jensen Ackles does. Still, I might not kick him out of bed for eating crackers... Huh. I have no Farscape icons. How did that happen?

I'm looking forward to seeing JA on Dark Angel again, just to see what "character type" you're talking about. Is there angst? I'm a sucker for angst.

Oh man, you'll LOVE season 2 Jensen. He's a lot like Dean--snarky, devil-may-care exterior covering a gooey angsty marshmallow center. And he wears glasses and plays the piano. UNF.

Holy SHIT, really?

That is hot.

I may be in serious trouble, here...

Ah yes, I forgot about the glasses piano thing. *bites fist*

This thread just convinced me I must watch Dark Angel. *fans self frantically*

[identity profile] sinnerforhire.livejournal.com 2010-05-30 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
He angsts while he's playing the piano, even. Try not to explode from glee. ;)

And what's even more amazing, if I remember correctly, is that it's actually Jensen playing the piano...not just made to look that way.

*fans self*

Multi-talented, that boy. I knew he played the guitar, so it's not that surprising that he'd be good at the piano too...

*jaw drops before she begins cackling again* God, I may explode right now. Is this on YouTube?

I'm not seeing that scene by itself, just a lot of fanvids.

Ah, thanks for looking.

His character is often the comic relief, but if you want angst, just wait until you get to The Berrisford Agenda (2x12, I think). Very, very angsty Alec. On the flip side, we all know how well JA does angst, but a lot of his work on DA displays his ability to play comedy. His introduction scene in S2 is hilarious, partly because of the interaction he has with Max, and partly because he's so young and prettified compared to Dean: I spent the entire scene giggling at him - I think he's got frosted tips!

Well, we *were* just coming out of the nineties. I'm willing to forgive him the frosted tips. ;)

Comic relief, eh? I'm actually looking forward to that. JA has great comedic timing, and it'll be nice to see early incarnations of that.

*raises hand* I'd so be gay for Claudia Black. In like .03 seconds.

In related news, you're all making me think about adding DA to ye old Netflix queue.

It's certainly worth a watch. I'll admit I still haven't seen all of S1. I started watching because I fell for Supernatural and was curious about what Padalecki and Ackles had done before that. So, I started with Ackles' season 1 ep, then watched all of Season 2, then jumped around in Season 1 some more to get the backstory.

It's got some really, really good moments, and some moments that make me cringe. But I'm used to that, and I watch for the characters more than anything. Even if you don't watch it all, it's got a really interesting premise.

And, Claudia Black is just so... *fans self* Yep.
