ratherastory: (Single Tear)

I am a bad, bad person

I'm watching Dark Angel (through Zip.ca, which is our equivalent of Netflix), and Jensen Ackles is in this episode as a serial killer, and all I can do is think "Hot DAMN, he is pretty!"

No seriously, there is a place for me in the special hell. For one, he's ten years younger in this than he is now, and I am fascinated by his eyes, and God help me, his mouth. I'm just staring, and it's kind of embarrassing.

Also? The main character just smacked him in the face and now he's got blood all over his teeth and GUH.

*headdesk*

He still hurts really purty, and he obviously had that single tear thing going even back then.

OOF.

Like I've always said: if he weren't married and I were straight (and, y'know, he even knew I existed, which he doesn't and which is as it should be)...

(AUUGH! His knee just went totally the wrong way. OH GOD THE SQUICK! Oh, and he's crying and I don't care if he's a serial killer I want to pet the bunny and make him tea.)

LOL

"Wee!Ackles." That's a hilarious name for it.

The writing on Dark Angel is... awkward, but not nearly as bad as some other shows I enjoyed and am rewatching (The Pretender, anyone? I love the show, but oh God, the WRITING).

haha, never watched the Pretender, but I had a friend who was into it. In general I like genre shows with an interesting concept more than high-falutin' dramas, and DA did have some great concepts. But there always is that period of mourning for some of the awesomeness that could have been if the writers resisted the urge to say, create a whole set of unfortunate 90's-esque swear words to have the characters use incessantly.

I haven't noticed the invented swear words. Maybe they come later?

mm, I thought I remembered some, or maybe just weird slang turns-of-phrase? I could be entirely wrong– it's been a while. Maybe I should rewatch for the summer, haha

There's a bit of newfangled slang, but I find it a lot less jarring than the fake swearing on Firefly and Battlestar Galactica. Alas that the rest of the writing isn't great. ;)

Ooh, IA re:Firefly. I just got my dad into it and when we were watching together I was cringing each time they used the made up words, or worse, the butchered Mandarin. And I don't even speak Mandarin. I didn't remember it being so uncomfortable, but it WAS. BSG is another part of my cultural heritage that I've somehow managed to skip entirely, but "frak"" and such has invaded the lexicon to the extent that I still know exactly what you're talking about.
