I think I may be suicidal

Is it really crazy of me to think that [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang sounds like a fantastic idea?

I have never ever really been part of a fandom before, and it's SO COOL.

Aww, it's so sweet you like us! I was practically raised by fan fiction writers (it's TV I'm always highly suspicious about), and I always worry a bit when new people find us - are they going to make fun of us? I hope we don't scare them, and so on!

Hee! I don't scare easily.

All my friends are geeks of a high order, and several of them are part of various fandoms (not SPN, though), so I at least knew what it was. I just never participated this actively before.

I'm having fun, anyway. :)

Also, everyone reading this thread, witness above a back-pedalling of a highest order! :D:D

I knew I should change that testosterone comment the moment I posted it, but some people are just too damned fast with replying!

I don't know what the original previews advertised, but my show commercials did not advertise the aspects most fans became to love about the show - just trust me everyone, if you had seen the ads our local channel did, YOU would have changed the channel, too!

LOL

I don't think anyone's offended, if anyone else is actually reading this comment thread.

The whole kicking-down-doors thing *is* pretty testosterone-laden, after all, and I'm pretty sure any station can make previews unappealing in the extreme.

[identity profile] twoexcluded.livejournal.com 2010-01-12 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I'm glad if you weren't offended! I realised how judgemental that comment may sound to someone else only after I had posted it, and criticising other people's tastes is something I usually try to keep at a minimum even inside my head. I firmly agree with whoever it was who said it's our differences that keep our community vibrant, and it particularly applies to the fandom.

No worries.

I'm pretty easy-going, most of the time. I also enjoy keeping my LJ a drama-free zone. ;)
