Rumor I heard: somebody posted Jared and Jensen's home addresses. If said rumor's true, I bet it's related to the disappearance of the anon meme. And about time too, since I've also heard rumors regarding posting of contact information for various other Ackleses and Padaleckis.
No, that was a different comm, and most of that has been deleted/screened. Please note, I'm not DEFENDING it, just saying that's a different comm that's still in existence.
I only spent a little while there. I kept reminding myself not to look because my delicate flower nerves couldn't handle it. Especially after I stumbled across a thread about how I was damaging the wholesome reputation of the meme with my LJ posts about them. :P
In short, I was never there long enough to recognize anyone.
I have NO idea how I got there, except that I complained about the lukewarm reviews I got, and someone (who I'm guessing is on my flist) then lamented that whenever I post something like that everyone comments with stuff that bashes the meme. I didn't read the whole thread, because it was long and, I suspect, probably stopped talking about me early on.
I can't say I feel especially bad about having comments in my personal LJ that aren't praising the meme, quite frankly.
I had no idea people were paying enough attention to my non-fic entries to actually feel wounded by them. Especially not the anon meme, which really ought to have thicker skin than that.
Precisely! I've never exactly made it a secret that I'm not a fan, and since this is my LJ I stand fast by my rule of "My LJ, I can post what I want in it." :)
I guess, to coin a term they were very fond of, they got all "butthurt" about my post. Aww.
I wonder if it has anything to do with Wincon having happened this past weekend? I wonder if the anonmeme mod got outed? Interesting coincidence nonetheless...
the mod felt that they had finally succeeded in their goal - which was to make this fandom as a hostile and unfriendly as they possibly can to writers and artists (especially new and inexperienced ones), because that's obviously a very, very clever way to keep your favorite show on the air.
OR
the mod finally realized that it was blatantly silly (and even a little pathetic) to spend hours whining about typos and plot holes and OOC moments in fanfic, considering that even NOOBs in this fandom generally write better quality stuff than Sera, Kripke, or Ben.
I think both theories are totally valid.
Oh and if it makes you feel better, my human's fic got blasted by several people on the anonmeme solely because this kitty did not put the artist's name in proper LJ Coding on the thank yous, and that was rude!! Now that? Is constructive criticism which me and my human needed. Trufax.
oh well, hopefully the new anon meme will drive even more writers and artists out of the fandom. The more this kitty thinks about, the more this seems like a great idea.
If the anonnies can make enough creative people uncomfortable and get them to leave the fandom, then the numbers of those who are watching the show will start increasing. Such smart anonnies, using reverse psychology like that. If you look at the ratings for the show, its already working! :D
Ick. That's really sad. Not surprising, given the fact that they shifted it away from Thursdays and put it right after Smallville, though. I think the network is not-so-subtly trying to kill it off.

I hope it's not true, if only because I'd like to think the meme was just bitchy and not skeevy like that. :(

All I have is speculation, though, so ~hands~

You're right: I think this calls for popcorn.

Wait, really? I talked about it all the time! I guess I flew too much under the meme's radar. . . .

The anon meme?
You mean like that entire comm or whatever it was?
What an awful day in fandom. I think we should all have a moment of silence....
Or, you know, not.

Deleting it may have been a way to cya.

I'm not a fan of them meme by any stretch, but I can't say that if I knew who the mod was that it would colour my judgment all that much.
Then again, I say that with the certainty that it's probably none of my fandom friends, so maybe I'm delusional. ;)

Apparently though these get banned and then pop right back up so . . . apparently fandom will never be free.

maybe it got deleted because:

Alas, another journal has sprung up in its place. It's a bit like a zombie plague. ;)

A few years ago, this might have been enough to drive me away from fandom, but I'm thicker-skinned than I used to be. :)
