Another thought that's not an insta-reaction

Behind a cut, because of spoilers.

Am I the only one who's having issues with Show's humour, lately?

Potty humour aside, I am getting increasingly squicked by the rape jokes. Is it me, or are they getting more... explicit? I mean, there was the "rode hard and put up wet" from earlier seasons, but this last episode just made me wince and CRINGE.

Drive-by confirmation: If a horse is ridden hard, to the point that sweat builds up in a lather on its skin, and is then put directly into a stable without receiving a rub-down to dry it off, it will get sick. So saying to someone "You look like you've been rode hard and put away wet" means "You look terrible."

Heh. The non-horse person here has mostly heard it in a sexual context. Good to know it has more innocent roots than that.

Shoot, from what I've read about the ep, it's not surprising you'd make that connection in that context. Glad I decided not to watch. :P

Well, apart from the sketchy humour, I really enjoyed the episode. It had a lot going for it. It would have been truly epic if not for the bad "jokes."

Really? Hmm, I didn't mind the jokes in this ep so much. I had much more issues with the 'Pudding' joke in 511, that one just...

But then I tend to hate jokes based on having the characters make fools of themselves.

I guess my bias is that I am a horse person. :) But as I said in an earlier comment, it can certainly be taken to have other, more sinister meanings. I mean, look what's happened with baseball metaphors. *LOL*
