Another thought that's not an insta-reaction
Behind a cut, because of spoilers.
Am I the only one who's having issues with Show's humour, lately?
Potty humour aside, I am getting increasingly squicked by the rape jokes. Is it me, or are they getting more... explicit? I mean, there was the "rode hard and put up wet" from earlier seasons, but this last episode just made me wince and CRINGE.

And I never took it that you were lumping my stories in with the kink meme. It'd be pretty difficult, given that 90% of them are gen, and most of the sex is relatively tame (the two stories with mild bloodplay aside, since they're about Sam's addiction and *do* bring a bit of kink into it).
In short, don't worry about it. :)

What I meant was that it seems counterintuitive to me that you first say that fanfiction <> show, and yet in another post, it is worthy of note when fanfiction = show. In a sense, it seems commonplace to think it's "cool" when any such prompt or fanfiction is allegedly "plagiarized" by the writers for an episode. I've heard leonidaslion's name mentioned many times in reference to plot lines for this season. It is remarkable. People get excited if something they wrote appears in canon.
However, that excitement obviously does not hold true for those who think they are turning out their character based erotica in a dark alley that no one will ever see or refer to. They get offended that their vice is now being reflected in the public eye.
While I understand the revulsion -- because talk like that is repulsive in a way and is meant to be -- I also see it as the very same thing that us gen-proficient writers have to diplomatically overlook daily in our fandom activities online anyway.
This show has broken new ground in closing the gap between fandom and canon in a way that no other show ever has before. If you're like me, that's one of the things that makes it so special. Therefore, I repeat my question: why is anyone surprised?
Why is our show, in continuing to successfully reflect all facets of fandom, suddenly considered so "intrusive"? Look at it from their side: how is writing porn about the characters they hold so dear not supposed to be considered intrusive to them? These people care about the characters just as much -- I dare say more -- than we do.
To those who write porn or OOC stories of any kind and are complaining, all I can say is that, well, if you sully the sandbox, it's sullied for everyone. If it wasn't poop before, why is it poop when the show does it?
