Wow. And random other things.
HOLY CRAP YOU GUYS!
Why did no one tell me how awesome Delicious is? It has tags and a place for notes, and the Firefox add-on lets me have it ALL in a convenient sidebar and it's like an organizational orgasm!
*cough*
Uh.
I'm calm now.
I foresee spending a LOT of time on this website. WHEE!
In other news, because I've been trying to think long and hard about my BigBang fic, my brain has come up with at least two ideas for crossover fics. Because, as you know, BigBang doesn't include crossovers. My brain is perverse.
The first is Supernatural/Lie To Me: I want Cal Lightman and Dean Winchester facing off across a table in a glass room. The master liar versus the master lie detector. It would be EPIC. I have no idea what the plot would be, but I really want to write this.
The second is my first fanfic love, Dresden Files/Supernatural: Can you imagine a soul gaze between Harry Dresden and Dean? How Dean would react to Harry's car? (It's a Volkswagen Beetle, for those of you who don't know the series) What Harry would think of Sam?
I even have a sort-of plot burgeoning at the back of my head for this. God save me.
Oh, and of COURSE a short story from Missouri's POV inserted itself in there too.
GOD.
Dear Supernatural,
I love you, I really do. STOP MAKING ME THINK OF NEW FIC TO WRITE. I HAVE NO TIME.
Love,
Me
Speaking of which, can anyone out there tell me what sort of music Sam Winchester listens to? I didn't recognize the one song that played briefly in "Lazarus Rising," and all of the show is dominated by Dean's musical taste, not Sam's. The only thing I know is that, according to Dean, Sam listens to crappy emo music, which tells me nada.
I really ought to write that meta about how Show doesn't actually know anything about Sam Winchester the human being, and only ever shows us Sam The Convenient Plot Device™.
(Yes, I want to build a playlist. Yes, I'm very OCD, I know. My OCD is harmless, though, and doesn't interfere with my life in any way. It just makes me twitchy when things aren't a certain way.)

I went to Delicious, clicked on "sign up" and hey-presto, a couple of completed fields later and there I was!
A car-off! I totally want to write this now. I even have an idea for the first scene in which they meet. GOD. What is WRONG with me?

No problem! Delicious is made of win, and I have to stop poking at it and go to bed already.
I have too many ideas and not nearly enough time to write them all. *wails and gnashes teeth*

Google informs me that the other song you mention is "Crazy Love."

I don't know the song in 4x01 either but apparently Sam is a fan of country music. Which is hilarious but also appropriate on so many levels.
Show doesn't actually know anything about Sam Winchester the human being, and only ever shows us Sam The Convenient Plot Device™.
Truth. This is why I gravitate towards Dean. Or is it that JPad is just an inferior actor? Who knows.
omg I have been making SPN playlists too! Yes, plural, because I am a dork. UM. I have a Dean/Cas one, a Cas one, a 5x04 one, and a Winchesters one, though I'm beginning to think making separate Dean and Sam ones might be a good idea. BECAUSE SPN HAS TURNED ME INTO A CRAZY PERSON?! Though to be fair, the Cas and 5x04 playlists have only 4 songs on them so far. If A Perfect Circle's "3 Libras" is not about the 5x04verse Dean&Cas relationship, I will eat my hat.

I don't think JPad is an inferior actor. I've seen both boys act in SPN and outside, and, umm... let's just say they *both* need a very firm hand when they're being directed. Otherwise, they slide very quickly into the land of suck. Hat-tip to the SPN directors. :)
I have a 5.04 playlist too, but it's under construction. The first song on the list is "The End" by The Doors. TELL ME THAT SONG IS NOT EXACTLY RIGHT FOR THE EP. I DARE YOU. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1b26BD5KjH0
Also,
(See? Capslocky. Again.)
*goes to listen to the other song*

Is heaven to you a perfect place?
The look of sorrow on a sufferer's face
What is forgiveness?
It's just a dream
What is forgiveness?
It's everything
and I'm just like CAAAAAAAAASSSS D: D: D:
Come to think of it, I saw JPad in Gilmore Girls ages ago... wherein he played a character named DEAN?? lol oh unintentional crossfandom hilarity.

I went and looked up the lyrics, and yes. Poor Cas! I didn't like him at all at first, and 5.04 totally reconciled me to the character, and then 5.10 and 5.13 made me love him. "Sam Winchester is my friend." GUH! MY HEART!
I'm guessing the title was a shout-out to The Doors too, but the SONG! GOD. It's always been one of my favourites (it's scary how close my musical taste is to Dean's in some respects: Metallica and The Doors and... yeah.).

I'm still not entirely sure what his canon motives are sometimes, and how much he was on-board with bringing about the apocalypse. Like, in 4x20, did Castiel know all along about the angels' end game and only FINALLY decided to tell Dean about it after much moral wrestling, or did he just recently find out? And when are the Winchesters gonna find out that it was him who let Sam out of the panic room? Castiel, what a conundrum.
no subject
Most. Badass. Entrance. EVER.
But I didn't like Castiel until he stopped being a douchebag to Sam. He grew on me slowly, basically.

Also, re: Sam's musical tastes - idk! My personal canon is that he listens to angry chick rock, haha.
I think some song came up on his Ipod before Dean killed it, though, right? But I can't remember what.

This is sadly true! I think the show saw how great JA is with the single perfect tear thing and just makes him have revealing, teary conversations everywhere now. Which is FINE with me. ;D HOWEVER, Sam can cry too! I like, loathe the episode "Heart," but I love his snotty, no-holds-barred crying there. It's very refreshing!
::rereads comment:: Lol, okay, I'm going to bed...
no subject
You don't like "Heart?" Why not? It's not one of the best episodes out there, but Sam does a thorough job of breaking my heart and so I am willing to forgive a whole lot for it. I might be a wee bit biased. ;)
The no-holds-barred crying was... umm... I have no way of saying what it did to me without sounding creepy and vaguely perverted. :P
(The song on the iPod has been revealed in an earlier comment)
Angry chick rock, FTW!

I thought it was melodramatic, and kind of rushed? Maybe if it had been spread out over two episodes or something and really dealt with Sam's dead girlfriend issues. As it was, my emotions felt like they were being manipulated to feel something I just wasn't feeling.
AND THEN there was the thing where the fire was blazing away while Sam had soapy, candelit sex that made me feel weird, and not in a good way.
I appreciated his massive shoulderblades, though! ;D
The no-holds-barred crying was... umm... I have no way of saying what it did to me without sounding creepy and vaguely perverted.
I UNDERSTAND. ::nods::

The sex scenes in SPN do very little for me, I'm afraid, one way or the other. I just kind of shrug and wait until they're over.
no subject
Heart was the episode that made me think that I might very well never find a show I loved as well as this one.
I was pretty sure of it before, but Sam's messy, heartbroken sobbing at the end gutted me. Still does, just thinking about it. :)
no subject
I fully support the Sam meta because, damn, I think 75% of what I think of as "important Sam information" is really some kind of collective agreement by fandom of things that are and are not Sam. That and, well, I think you know how I feel about the puppy.
Don't you love your brain coming up with awesome ideas right when you're about to start something else?

I don't have time to write all these stories, dammit, but I WANT TO.

A dresden files / spn crossover would be epic.
And I love all SPN/ procedural crossovers.

But on the other hand, I make procrastination productive. When I hit a block with one, I end up working on the other.
Which are both sooo far behind, word count wise.
But it's going to be great, right? Right?

I always thought a fic about Sam going to Dresden for information about breaking Dean's deal would be awesome BUT my feeble writing skills make that impossible! I still keep entertaining the idea of drawing it maybe. SOMEDAY when I am not bogged down in a million piles of projects...
I always picture Mouse would treat Sam a little like he did Molly at first. Growly but eventually warming up to him.

Speaking of which, can anyone out there tell me what sort of music Sam Winchester listens to?
"Fight Song" by Republic Tigers (rockband from Kansas of all places) in the motel room, when Dean and Bobby arrived and in the car, the song that shortly played from his "douching up the car with an iPod", that had Dean all offending looking "really", like he would throw Sammy out of the car for forcing the car to play music like that was... wait for it..."Visions" by Jason Manns, as in one of Jensons good friends, for whom he already sung background-vocals on stage sometimes, so THAT one made me laugh. ;)
So in general, I would say modern country and rock, so pretty normal stuff for a college guy(?)
no subject
I haven't been in college for ten years, and I wasn't exactly "typical" in my taste nor in my friends, so I have no idea what normal is for a college guy these days. :)
I guess I'll just have to wing it. Luckily I listen to a fair bit of modern country and rock, so.
Thanks!

I found this on SuperWiki:
We know nothing of Sam's music tastes, although Kripke gave some clues at another post Comic Con interview in August 2007.
Interviewer: Okay, and since we’re talking music, what in blazes is Sam’s problem with Dean’s music? And given the chance, what music would Sam play?
Kripke: (laughs out loud) We have interesting debates about that all the time; about what Sam’s music would be, and you know, I hope that Sam listens to whatever cool modern music is. I don’t know any of them because I don’t listen to anything after 1980, so, you know… Green Day, I guess? I don’t know! Who is cool these days? Is Green Day cool? What band is cool these days?
Interviewer:Maybe Red Hot Chili Peppers…
Kripke: Yeah, so he listens to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Fall Out Boy and maybe The Killers? I am so a stranger in a strange land when it comes to those bands that that’s why you never hear Sam’s soundtrack, cos I don’t know that music and I’d choose the wrong songs. All my friends call me “Old Man Kripke” because I don’t listen to any bands after 1980; that’s why Dean’s music always wins out, because I hate so much modern music that I can’t bear to listen to it in the editing room. (laughs)

I got one like two weeks ago, and I'm enjoying it so much.
Plus, reading other people's is an awesome way to find stuff. I started, and now I can't stop.
I personally believe that Sam Winchester listens to Keane. I have no canonical basis for this, but I heard a song of theirs one day and it just seemed right.
I have a Supernatural playlist! or three. You're not alone.
