I'm not abandoning ship, but the way LJ is going I'm tempted to start crossposting from DW and disabling comments here. Time will tell. Also, I'm getting flooded with spam comments (not just on this journal, but on old RP ones I forgot about, etc.) and LiveJournal keeps logging me out randomly (often in the middle of editing entries), which is making my user experience very, very frustrating. I let my paid account lapse a while back, and now I'm finding it less and less appealing to even give advertising revenue to LJ for the crappy service.

So, in light of everything that's transpired, I figured I would leave links here to all the other places you can find me and/or my fanfiction online:

the automatic crosspost feature of dw posting is a godsend. that said, i'm not sure how the whole reading my lj flist is going to go once they make the friend list changes permanent....I may end up with a lot of community bookmarks or something.

Hee! The comment system at AO3 and DW are roughly the same as LJ, if you have an account. If you don't you can sign in with your LiveJournal name as an Open ID. But I can understand the desire to stay where it's familiar. I've been on LiveJournal for over 10 years, it's hard to leave it behind.

Ughh, I was just thinking that the spam comments are out of control. I keep having to disable anon comments at comms, which I don't like to do, but I can't deal.

Hee! No, I don't link to Twitter, but you can subscribe on AO3 much like on fanfiction.net. Dreamwidth works pretty much exactly like LJ, for the record. Twitter is where I spend most of my time online, and it's a big old mix of RL and fannish stuff. Every now and then I remember that I have a Tumblr and reblog something. ;)

I imported my LJ to DW and post over there all the time now, and you can comment here or there, whichever. I still only check my lj flist, but that's cause only a couple of my comms have moved to DW.

LJ is pissing me off a lot, but my fannish life is still here, so....

Exactly. My fannish life is here too, and none of my comms have moved. I keep trying to figure out how to move ohsam there, but given the relative complexities of such a move, we haven't done much more than create the community. :/

I don't know if a comm is different than a personal journal, but moving the personal journal was really, really easy.

Huge plus - the customer service over there is rock-solid and amazing, they'll actually respond and *help*.

I believe they have importing capacities for comms now (they didn't before). I'm just leery of importing all the content from a community when I don't necessarily have permission from the authors to do so. While I can't think of a reason they wouldn't want it, that doesn't mean those reasons don't exist, you know?

Me, i'd just post a notice in the comm saying 'going to put up a mirror comm at DW, if you don't want your content moved (ie, fic) please link me to the post you want taken down.'

That way if anybody gets all bunched over it, you can delete them before the move. I can't imagine why anyone would care, but who knows.

Ugh, I hear you. I was tracking the meme until it slowed to a more reasonable flow of comments, and deleted quite a bit of spam myself. :P

Cool! I am terrible at remembering whose usernames belong to whom on Tumblr, because most people picked different ones and I am easily confused. *sigh* If at one point I ask you who the hell you are, please don't be offended. ;)
